Do you guys think we have a distorted perception of Christ? Do you think Catholic men need to step up? Let me know!

Catholic men need to step up, for sure. In our hearts, in our homes and in the community, we need to step up. We need to "take deeply painful steps" to correct our paths. Once on the right path, then we need to become equipped, formed. To do this, we need to sell, and we need mentors and fellow-knights. We need the leaders to help us be leaders.

Yes! You nailed it. There’s so much opportunity for us to do this from the smallest to the largest level. It starts with us as men and we have to do better with doing the work and also looking out for each other as I imagine Christ did with his disciples. Im optimistic

You will have an excellent channel if you excite men to step up, without pontificating. Speaking of that, nobody should be openly deifying Pope Francis either. Here is a man who needs to correct his path as much as you and I do. If we all need to hear you correct us, why doesn't the pope need to hear you correct him. Or at least need to hear his brother bishops correct him. He has made public statements, so his corrections need to be public. If he is a mere man like the rest of us, then he needs to repent also. But his responsibilities require him to correct his errors in public. Tomorrow is First Saturday. I will pray for his soul and I will pray that God has His way with Pope Francis' leadership. Other than that.... I do not know whether his intentions are ultimately good for the universal Church. You don't either. But God does.

Thank you! I look to St. Alphonsus and his preference for simple and logical expression with minimal emotion. It works for me. I agree with you about the pope as well. We love, respect, and obey him, and that also means we can be mindful of things he does or says that could be out of line with our beliefs. On the other hand, I also understand he’s pope during the digital age, which presents its own challenges. Everything is clipped and posted, often missing context when he speaks.
