We are heading to volunteer with Senior Chef Andrés wherever he might need us most. I am a twice shot Viêt Nam combat vet, my baby brother a long time volunteer with meals on wheels. This guy is my Hero. You need to read his book "We fed an Island" about being among the first on the ground in Puerto Rico after the devastating Hurricane. They were making sandwiches the day they arrived. He has a keen sense of logistics and dealing the what is available to keep feeding those affected by disaster. When I have money to donate, it goes to my local Food Bank and to World Central Kitchen.

My grandmother owned a restaurant and she lived above it. She closed her restaurant and cooked many meals for wedding parties that could not afford a wedding party. All my life when I walk through the town of Berlin New Hampshire people will run out and stop me and ask me if I'm related to Mary Grande... and then tell me their story of the free meal or party that they had on their wedding day. My grandmother pretty much lost her husband to the Second World War so she was a single parent of two children so it was not easy for her
