Let us go back in 1969, I ride my cb450 66, my friend who has 68 cb450, five speed, is trading it for a BSA 750 triple, he keeps it for a month, doesn,t like it, trades it for the new and just arrived CB750, it,s a BBBBLAST, WE WERE ALL STUNNED, this bike just instantly killed the British bike industry.

Had a '76 CB750 Four that I put 65K miles on it before trading it in on a 1980 CB900 Custom. Damn I wish I still had those bikes. What machines. I was in my 20's then. WTF did I know.

Isn't nostalgia great. It makes you forget how much work it was to keep that bike running properly. I had a '73 and in order for it to run right it needed the valves adjusted every month, the cam chain weekly and the drive chain once a week minimum. Handled like a pig but it changed the bike world and I don't regret one scraped knuckle.

I had to read the comments to get an idea of when this was posted. Thank You KZbin for being a PITA by removing the post date. I digress. This is such a fine example of motorcycle engineering. It wasn't the fastest or best handling (it wasn't designed to be) but it was the epitome of smoothness. I have to wonder how much this bike went for. My 1977 CB 750 served me well over the years. Then the new tech (DOHC) dominated the streets. It was a fine era.

I like the 4:1 header better. Run mine on a resonator tip otherwise open.
