Nice update, great movies. About The Burglars: Indeed, The film was filmed in two language versions: a French version for the European market and an English version for the US. The actors more or less gave it their best shot. Dyan Cannon only spoke English during filming and was dubbed for the other version; Belmondo at least tried his hand at English, Sharif is convincing. Linguistically, I liked the French version better, the English version doesn't reach the same level of artistic sophistication. It is important to note here: The running times are also different. The French version runs 126 minutes, the English version only 114. The cuts consist of mostly tightening or re-cutting of existing scenes (such as the brilliant car chase through Athens).

Been way too hectic of late to truly spoil myself with new releases but hopefully things are settling down and I’ve some preorders forthcoming. Most excited about Volume 2 of the All The Haunts Be Ours from Severin which I instantly bought without looking at the damage it did my wallet! Then I’ve preordered Timecrimes from Umbrella who really seem to be killing it right now with a glut of new and forthcoming releases I hope I can nab myself. Then over to Indicator where I simply couldn’t resist the Wilder/Pryor boxset, the next 2 BFI Flipside releases (more obscure folk horror and Vincent Price cooking!) which will bring my much coveted complete set to 50 and thus onto Arrow who had already karate chopped my wallet with Shawscope 3 but are tempting me with the J-Horror and Álex de la Iglesia sets plus the ever reliable Radiance with, well, kinda everything! Which ones I’ll afford and which I’ll skip is uncertain but I’m sure some are on your radar and I’ll look forward to hearing your views on them as and when. Until then, good sir!

Eureka have said that those Hong Kong/ martial arts movies have kept their doors open; without them they'd have possibly gone under.

I wish bouquet label does same with Indian cinema movies
@bertcielen87094 ай бұрын
@@nostalgia3403 Blame the Indian film industry. They're notoriously closed, and even simply showing a movie in the UK is a logistical nightmare which even involves protection services to guard the DCPs etc. Movie critics have repeatedly complained about how it is seemingly impossible to get a press screening a week or so in advance, whereas most major Hollywood blockbusters don't have such issues.

Where did you read or hear this? I'd interested in reading or listening to it. I have always found their lack of communication re their martial arts releases and the fact they pretend to do BAU as if they had always released martial arts stuff frustrating.

Hello dear creator! What are your thoughts on A24’s blu-ray releases in general? They seem a bit pricier than criterion when they’re on sale; however, Aftersun and TV Glow are two of my favorites of all time, and I’ve been considering picking those up. Are A24’s releases up to the quality standards of criterion and other boutique labels? Thanks for helping out a new collector! :)

La Chimera and Riddle of Fire are two that I loved recently. I do agree that RoF felt perhaps 10 mins too long, however the originality and charm of it made up for that, for me. I have to say though, I found myself a bit disappointed by I Saw The TV Glow. Granted, I'm not the target market per se, and I liked a lot of the design choices, however it didn't all stick the landing for me. I was left a bit mixed.

Nice video. I am more particularly intrigued by the Lazenby movie. I had never heard of it. I immediately thought of Don't Look Now. It is interesting that Who Saw Her Die? was released before Roeg's film. Re Eureka, I am one of those 'martial arts haters'. I personally feel that Eureka deserve the reactions they are getting whenever new martial arts titles are announced. When you have been used to Fritz Lang, Sergio Leone or FW Murnau releases and all of a sudden 95% of the new releases are martial arts and Eureka pretend nothing has changed (and ignore people's reactions), it is a bit hard to take. I appreciate that they may have had some financial difficulties and those martial arts films have saved them, but at the very last they could have said something officially. They have probably gained a lot of fans who are into that kind of cinema, but I am sure they have lost a lot of their long-time supporters, including myself. I have moved on, and very rarely buy anything from Eureka these days. Radiance's releases are way more exciting.
