Really enjoyed this video. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey to level up Covenant and my first (and only) cov 25 win, but I've struggled to be as consistent at the top level. Thought this touched upon some good general theories and strats without being overly boring and prescriptive!

Around 52:00 you wanted to prevent haste after the boss appeared. You could have +10 DMG -2 health 0 cost razorsharp edge on the 1/1 enemy haste unit to kill it.

Thanks for this! Very helpful to me. I'm kinda mid game, almost unlocked all the faction cards, and still getting the hang of some champs. Your explanations are very detailed yet succinct. I still haven't beaten the final final boss, but I feel better about my chances now. The one thing I really struggle with is playing the run rather than building to what I wanna do. It's tough, but the times I go with the flow, the results are typically much better.

That's definitely one of the difficult adjustments when you get to the higher covenant levels. The game is much more punishing when you don't adapt to the drafts the game gives you. I believe that every standard run is winnable, but often times it requires some creative setups that aren't so obvious when you first start playing. Good luck and I hope the video was helpful for you!

Stumbled upon this looking for some advice on tackling higher levels. Amusingly what I learned most from this video was to focus spikes on a single large target to make it effective at stopping bosses. I had been using Spikes too liberally, having them whittle my opponents down over multiple floors but a single large tank proved very powerful here

5:40 is interesting. In my opinion it is Always worth it to take the limbo boons. Mostly because the way shard math works out you don't actually get a threatening elite until 14 shards held. And 100 early gold is just such an incredible lever for building a deck as it allows you the ability to reroll in the first store and still take no matter what the trial you get is. If my deck is weaker I might skip the limbo relic however as I've found relics can often be whiffs and 15 shards can actually kill you unlike 10. Edit: We really would have gone about this run very differently.

If you have any shards you will get some buffed enemies, but if you have none you only get regular foes. That's at least my experience

@@derpz_ Shards work on a point buy system. If you can actually manipulate which enemies are elite with experience.

Interesting, especially since i would have made a lot of different choices even when considering everything you said. Watching this run showed me how different playstyles in the same run can be, early decisions led to big differences in the end, when you had to pick cards you where like we pick this and totally not this, and with my choices early on it would have been, the exact oposide because it would have paired well with my idea of the run. So basically i learned to have a long term plan is important especially a plan that you as the player can follow and can play out well.

I really enjoyed this video but the music was too loud and doesn't add anything to the experience. This is a very interesting topic and all that matters is your voice. Music was too loud and I could barely hear you sometimes. It got in the way of focusing on what you were saying more times than it should. Awesome video otherwise.

I like the Idee of this video. So far a lot of mistakes I have made myself have been Pointed out. I think there might have been room for a little more discussion about concealed caverns. I agree with you that having a card you want to upgrade befor going is a good idea. However since the old magic has been added I often consider if I would rather leave some upgrades in the shop for the chance of getting it. Something I have been wondering about is wether or not it is worth it to fill both upgrade slots of a unit (possibly the second one not with the ideal upgrade) just so the possible upgrade from the caverns go into the third slot.

Battle 1: playing fracture on the priests was actually not the play. The disciples weren't damaged so you weren't effectively "doing 5 damage" by killing the priest. On the middle floor fracture would've actually done 6 damage for a net of 1, besides leaving reap for the next floor (you had restores for echoes next turn). On the bottom floor, even if reap does no damage on the lower floors, extra reap on the top floor still could do damage which bypasses the priests healing (provided you kill, with it being your aim). Killing the marksman with hosting kin was also a lot of wasted damage. If it were shard-enhanced that might be a different story, but it dies to spikes and you're likely to heal its damage anyway. Hosting kin on the frontline then would've at least justified killing the priest on that floor. There are moments where you could generally rationalize but sometimes you need to actually check your math. Some other considerations were leveraging some damage on the sentient for restoration detonation, and floor echo management, especially if it's necessary to use wurmkim starters to deal with enemies. Ring 2: ironic. You talk about always taking the unit on ring 2 when you have the glaring example of a case where that's less than necessary, conscription notice (really the only whiff is lady of the house); yet you take an "expensive" egg that's not likely to hatch and invest nothing into it, leaving it as a 0/1 chump blocker. Without conscription notice, would you have died there while first of kin would've at least saved you against the boss?
@NeverNathaniel
@NeverNathaniel 3 жыл бұрын
Ring 1 tactical combat could have been smoother for sure. There was a clean "no damage" setup possible using fractures / hosting kins better. For Ring 2, I disagree that taking the egg is worse. My mistake is that I didn't prioritize hatching the egg over pre-clearing enemy units. If I had played one or two fractures on the egg, it would have hatched before the boss came and was a much more valuable long-term unit then first of kin.

at the 47 minute mark, how is rerolling unit upgrades to look for another multistrike? i probably do that too much
@eden3669
@eden3669 Жыл бұрын
afaik you cant get the same red upgrade in the same shop twice, he got multistrike already so if he rerolls he'd get one of the other 3 (endless, quick, or largestone) as the red upgrade
@NotBamOrBing
@NotBamOrBing Жыл бұрын
If you go into a steel shop looking for two different upgrades, you have a 5/6 chance of seeing at least one (2/4 chance of seeing neither on the first, and then 1/3 chance of seeing neither after the reroll, and 2/4*1/3=1/6 chance of seeing neither) So multistrike is good, but if you also want to put one of endless, large, or quick on at least one of your units, then you've got a very good chance of seeing an upgrade you want
