I just picked up some rollers a few weeks ago so this design will come in handy for me. I was just planning on having enough rollers to support the whole engine but this look like a better option.

It definitely adds stability and makes it easier than trying to place rollers under the tender and pilots. I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.

@@MartyE It was helpful, but I need to see how to do the wiring because I am not fully sure how to do wiring
@MartyE Жыл бұрын
@@doctordeath.5716 The wiring is very basic. Connecting the the locomotive base track to the tender base track is 1 to 1. Looking from the top you would join the first rail on the tender base to the first rail on the locomotive base, second rail to second rail and third to third. Depending on the track used, if the outside rails (commons) are not connected via the track type then just a jumper between the outside rails will do the trick. The transformer gets hooked up the same way as on a layout. Common to the out side rail and hot to center.

Any recommendations for a first time custom model maker? Look for additional info for cutting the track. Great video! Thanks for all the other information!

I used a Dremmel tool with a larger cutting wheel.

Don’t know if the question has been asked but where you connect the common wire.? I saw the positive but not the common
@MartyE2 ай бұрын
I use clip leads from a transformer and clip the common to the outside rail and the hot to the center. You could wire the track to binding posts but the clip leads work for me. That way I can set it aside when not using it. The commons that I tied together just make sure I have good continuity between the outside rails. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks. I've been wanting to do this one for a while. People kept on asking me about the one I built. I'm hoping to do just a train video next. It's been a while.

Micro-Mark seems to be sold out of their rollers. Any suggestions for an alternative? Thanks in advance.
@MartyE16 сағат бұрын
The only thing I found on line was an ebay seller. They look good but would need to be the same height as the Micro Marks or you will have to make some adjustments.

@@MartyEI appreciate the advice. Question: what wording did you use to search for it in eBay?
