Historically when one beats a Korean archer, he will be defeated by another Korean archer in the next match, only Lei Chien Ying can pass the two Koreans I know so far. In the 2019 Asian Championship, Ansan was defeated by Zheng Yichai and Lee Eun Gyeoung was defeated by Cao Hui, but they were both defeated by Kang Chae Young

I know nothing of archery at this level, I just like to watch, But I noticed there is a clamp or holder on the arrow that seems to click against the bow just as the arrow is launched, What is that thing? and how does it know the archer is about to let the arrow loose?

No. An San took some heat at home for her short haircut since that's not common in Korea. She's possibly the best archer I've seen and lost only one match that year - including winning Olympic Women's individual, Mixed Team and Women's Team golds as well.
