So many lessons to be drawn here (no pun intended) for many other sports too. My son and I are both serious golfers and have, in years gone by, been serious archers. So many correlations between these sports in our opinion. Of course in both we are aiming for a tiny target over a large distance, but this is just the start. The precision of the routine, the focus, breathing, the belief etc. are all fundamental if you want to move to higher levels. Many thanks - looking forward to sharing this with my son. We may have to take our bows out again too! Cheers from Sydney - Dave

Can you do Lim Sihyeon’s technique as well?

Excellent analysis - the trick with the downforce into the bow arm shoulder in order to help stabilize it is so brilliant. 😳

Great video as always. Thanks ❤️ Would you mind talking about the final bow twist after release? How much is it important?

When you say “set your bow shoulder” I’m a bit confused. When I draw, I push with bow arm and pull with string arm. Is that “setting the shoulder” or is there more to it? Thanks.

She draw the Bow from very hight position, that an older way to do this. In your shown discription 5:50 min. your drawhand is on eye-level. She is in the same position over the head.This can cause injuries in the shoulder.(Issues Avoid Impingement)

Thanks for the video, as a fan of An San, I wanna ask about your opinion on why An San is having such a massive slump this year?
@dongleseon87853 ай бұрын
That's probably a personal reason that no one in KZbin can answer. Pressure is a one reason for sure. Their national league is known to be more difficult to win than olympic.

Only 8 archers are selected for the national team in Korea per year, and out of the 8, top 3 or 4 archers are selected for the Olympics, World Cup, and any other international tourneys that are happening that year. Unfortunately, An San couldn’t make the cut for the national team this yr, therefore has not been able to participate in any international events this year, including of course the Paris Olympics. However she did just win silver in a domestic event today in Korea. Hopefully she’ll be able to get back on the national team and make a comeback on the international circuit next yr. Watch out for her 😉 Btw the selection process is absolutely grueling and spans over 4 months of elimination with no ranking or seed protection whatsoever. Everybody starts the same each year. The fact that she made the team 6 years in a row prior to this year shows her legendary class.

I used to draw with my bow up at an angle - certainly not as high as An San - and I was warned by a judge that he considered it a sky draw... thoughts?
@michellsmorgcycle41613 күн бұрын
Perhaps that's why An San does not really draw (pull the string back) until her bow has already dropped and the arrow is close to horizontal rather than pointing upward (and she draws it quick, then). If she starts drawing before she does, she'd be doing sky draw.

I would like to see how she masters that form in really strong winds.

San And Woojin do not have as upright of a posture as most teach. I know why... what are your thoughts? You would 'correct' them as a coach if you didn't realize they were hitting 10s.
