From what I remember, international fans were more upset with Yer's addition rather than the Korean public. In general though, I expect a MUCH more positive reception this time around, In Yeri's case, it was the first time since Super Junior M that a new member was added to a group - it caught a lot of people off guard, so it made sense that some became upset at first. Now though, those who were around in 2014 have experienced new member additions through Yeri. For newer fans, they've likely at least been introduced to NCT, so they have a good amount of experience with new member additions. All in all, most are probably desensitized to the concept of adding new members to a group - so people will probably be more accepting of it if it happens.
