Also..every time I fry bacon the smoke alarm goes off. I found that a quart size zip lock fits over the alarm. I put it on, fry bacon, eat breakfast and take the zip lock off. Works better than the ear drum piercing. I enjoy your videos soooo very much. I’m always smiling watching you two! Keep up the great job!

99 can be a pain in the butt! I’m originally from Fresno, but was an RN working in Madera. In wintertime, the valley fog is an awful problem! One night I was on call, and I was called in at 2 am for an emergency C section, as the Neonatal specialist . I knew I had my normal 30 minute drive, but it literally took me m just driving, 1 hr 15 minutes! I worried thee whole way! Yet, I beat the OB by 15 minutes, and he actually lived slightly closer by 5 miles. So, we could not start without the OB, but I ended up acting as assistant surgeon, Pediatrician and Neo specialist. I called RT in to assist with the premie. Best call I ever Made! I just didn’t have enough hands to manage it all, and the OB also needed another pair for the patient. Both the OB and I stayed til shift change just to avoid having to get back into that pea soup called Tule Fog‼️🎯🚩

Smoke alarm going off means dinner is almost ready. One of us grabs the dish towel and turns on the vent fan while heading to swing the towel at the smoke alarm while opening the door. It's a thing. My DH looked over at me and smiled and nodded while you were fanning the alarm. Love you guys. We are full-time for four years. You are real about what we go through.

I live in Northern CO. We know crazy weather! Memory Foam products are just terrible for wishy-washy temps! They are awful in the winter for being cold and hard, and then I find them miserably hot the rest of the year. I love your channel. You guys are so up beat and funny. I'm looking forward to leaving this lonely huge house behind & hitting the road in a couple of months. I've learned a lot in the dozen or so videos of yours I've already watched! Not that hard to stay warm on cold nights, keeping it G rated so figure it out on ur own.Ney Ney, kudos on the driving. Little lady here don't drive on trips. But it's ok, I love the road. Left home here in Ohio at 3a.m and arrived in Melbourne Florida around 8p.m., stopped only for gas and once to eat and chillaxe. Not how we normally travel, we stop at everything. Normal 1 day trip turns into 2 on account trip there and back is part of our vacation. Never bored. Love you guys, stay safe. Looking forward to meeting up someday (warm) don't overdrive when getting tired. When you start to feel it, STOP. Not worth the risk

Something we learned in this weeks cold snap in Missouri: wrap your propane tanks in a blanket. When the bottles get cold, the propane apparently turns into thick goo and the furnace doesn’t work. Wrapping the tanks in a blanket has made such a huge difference in how effective the furnace worked.

And on top of that, My previous acreage home was heated with Propane, 4000 litre tank, Coldest day -53C, and the average prarie winter temps. Not once did the furnace fail to run. Simply, It is an urban myth that propane doesnt flow in cold temps. Millions of canadians who heat with propane disprove this myth!

My smoke detector goes off all the time in my cargo trailer. I love watching you two on just the regular days. I’m setting in the desert by Yuma, Arizona all alone in the desert, trying to avoid Covid. My 12 volt fridge died and I had to ship it off. At least it’s under warranty. But for now I’m using soft cooler’s until I get a new one. But thank goodness my solar makes me ice cubes for free to keep them cold. Warm hug’s even to Dexter ❤️

Yessss!!! Thank you for sharing the fact to look at a satellite map prior to arrival! Speaking from co-pilot to co-pilot, that’s exactly what I do when my hubby is driving and we’re ending at a place “foreign” to us. I won’t say who, but we have watched other YT channels and at least two of them got stuck and put their rig in a bad position. When I look at satellite images, since we tow a large fifth wheel, I’ll look for semi trucks with trailers as well as other Rvs and the direction of travel to help us get in and out safely. If you guys don't want to invest in a lot of the typical boondocking options like lithium, solar, and/or a generator.. One thing you might want to look at is a Mr. Buddy propane heater. You can run one on low for about 6 hours on a 1 gallon tank. Nice to have for emergencies and unplanned stops.

You say 30 like thats old. I have socks that are that old ! At 30 we we're having twins ( had a 2.5 y.o. as well) . Decided the slide in pickup camper would NEVER work so we got a tent trailer. I didn't give it much hope; but as it turned out it was GREAT !. 30+ years later, couple of tents and 4 RV's later we still enjoy the RV life (not full timers). You do a great job entertaining us, but honestly Dexter steals the show. BTW... I know this is late but to others... Peggy Sue's is a great place to eat but a little scary part of town to stay the night.

Got to be careful during those cool nights. If you leave the trailer plugged in, you can drain the truck battery. We had a 20 year old 5th with no solar or generator and one battery. Our furnace didn’t work unless it had 13v which is impossible to have with just the battery. So I used a jumper box to supply additional power for heating. Then start the truck at 3 o’clock in the morning and use an inverter on the truck to supply 120v to kick up the heat and recharge. The truck is quieter than a generator. All this for the wife and kids in 30 degree temperatures. Now we just purchased a new c class with dual batteries/solar and a generator. It’s nice to get some sleep.

My first night in my new RV, two weeks ago, was at Walmart in Gilmer, TX. It got too dark, and it was windy. My trailer hitch performed great, but I don't drive in the dark. With no hookups, I was a little cold, used a space heater. It wasn't my plan to spend my first night at a Walmart, but it was a good experience, a little noisy, but I felt very safe. Love you guys!! Glad you made it safely to Florida. My hubby and I are "Chasing the Sun" (also the name of our RV Facebook page) and we are in Desert Hot springs CA. We just started fulltime rv life in December and went from Indiana to southern California in 3 weeks, all while my husband worked fulltime remote. We learned the hard way, but now we are taking our time and enjoying the trip. Can't wait to see how Florida is!

When you hit the south east area of Arizona, stop by the rest area in my area of Texas Canyon. You won't miss it with all the rocks from when the ice era west and southern moving ice created the rocks sitting on top of the rocks. It's beautiful and perfect place to call me!

First night out on cross country trip to California beginning of December we stopped to boondock at a Walmart in northern Alabama. Very cold so tried furnace on low and 5 AM propane detector going off because of low battery. When we got up went in to Walmart and got a second battery and that took care of us. Now run with two Lithium ion batteries in our 5th wheel.
