Creating the road by filling in the grass over the salt was a neat touch. Sort of the opposite of what I usually see of doing grass and then putting in a path.

The original plan was to have it be more like "oh it's salt flats with some patches of grass here and there" but I went a little overboard with the green haha

I love your mapping videos, im on the fence about starting something like this too using my pixel art. I used to map for a game as a kid and loved how relaxing making forests and mountains was, especially to watch my friends have a great time playing in it. As a grown ass man now, i really want to get back to my roots and maybe start a community too.
