The concept of the game is incredible. Aspects of the game are complete dog shit. You earn point to level up speed, power etc if you hit civilian cars or lose any boss fights you then lose any upgrades you’ve gained. Essentially you revert to the start meaning you have to grind your way back to where you were which takes a fair bit of time. During my time fighting the fire boss. He used the devastating fireball attack. Usually you spam circle to counter it, no prompter appeared. I spammed circle but nothing happened. He destroyed the city and I lost 70,000 hero points. Lost some great abilities I had so now the boss fight is even more impossible unless I grind the repetitive side missions. Great concept but bullshit outcome

I ended up here because I want to learn how to level design landscapes with an emphasis on a topological but logistically sound routing through it. A lot of openest world type games have redundant dead space in them that can technically serve as travel wastes, but I want to sort of avoid that unless it's becoming of the set pieced area/environment, and not have it be a transitive property for the whole world I want to build. Your first point I feel is the strongest towards that, because my imaged memory of certain places I have experienced have certainly inspired me a great deal in idealizing the vertical harmony I want to achieve. Not to say I haven't seen this in a game before, but it is exceptionally rare to find, and is usually through layers of abstraction such as a mod, or fanmade level, stuff like that. Older games that have to use simple geometry in order to -fill- feel* large and grand are the highest volume of success in that category, so I am finding it hopeful I can probably both get into this, and perhaps even stick with it.

What's the benefit to adding multiple " maps " on a single map? just so there are less of them to sift through in the list? or something else?

That's the primary benefit yea. It's mostly a workflow/best practices thing. It also helps if you have it set up so that the player's location is shown on the menu/map/etc, as these often go off of the name of the map. So if you have the map with all the buildings named the same as the town they are in, it all appears as one name for uniformity sake. If that makes any sense.

Most of my maps have a fair amount of events on them tho, since the NPCs are time sensitive and come and go often so i probably wouldn't benefit too much from this, might make map-specific cutscenes more complicated to setup. its sort of " harvest moon/stardew valley " esq. speaking of map names tho, do you happen to know if its possible to move where the map name pops up? My tools/time/HP UI all shows up on the upper left, any way to make the position of the map name show up either below those or on the right instead? as it is right now, it pops up on top of my other stuff and its hard to notice and looks bad if you do lol

@@StarlightBettaGamer there are different menu system plugins that will affect stuff like that, but off the top of my head I can't think of any specific ones. Taking a look at a few different options and where they position stuff might lead you to one that works.

Ah, to be this good at detailing... I'm still at David Newton's level of "stick a computer in the wall". Though I have recently started playing with 3D floors. Currently trying to get back into the habit after a few weeks away from the PC with a simple map based on fractal geometry, but I have a bigger project in the background that's simply called "WOOD" ("DOOM" upside down...).

I think you already covered my ideas - and then added several more good ones! It's not really a bad film, just a bit... bleak. And you're right - I can name almost the entire Nostromo crew, I remember about half the marines, but I couldn't even remember the doctor's name from the third film (and I'd forgotten the preacher entirely).

Wow, I wasn't expecting as complete a game as this, it's like Lewandowski, who had 26 goals and 9 assists last season. Including 19 goals and 8 assists in La Liga. He’s about to turn 36. If a 22-26 year old striker were putting up these numbers they’d be worth a huge fee on the transfer market. The reality is there are hardly any number 9’s at the elite level who put up these type of numbers. Number 9s are incredibly hard to find. Particularly with how the game is played today with so much possession and inverted wingers constantly cutting inside to shoot instead of providing service to number 9s.

I am having a problem with the fitting of a tilesets I got on steam for rpg maker mz. I purchased the Winlu Fantasy Exterior Pack, and the windows all seem to be 2 squares in size. Which then causes them not to be able to fit on one square high buildings, and when I do a 2 square high building the windows aren't centered. How can I adjust the placement of the objects in the tileset to make them fit better? Is there a plug in that lets you make fine adjustment and decrease the size of objects?

In a case like that, the only thing you can really do is open the tileset file up in Photoshop or something similar (GIMP, Paint Studio, etc) and manually change the tile to fit your needs. It may seem like a daunting prospect but trust me, it's pretty simple once you dive in.

I had plans for a while to do an interior tileset, but never got around to it so to work and other life situations. Honestly though, the default tileset fits pretty well, as does any gen4 style tileset you can find on a few sites out on the interwebs

I can appreciate the short video. I'd add the following from the top of my head: * have chill and intense zones with reward in mind (fighting / protected zones) so players can go between them and have that relief feeling when they are safe, for example you could have a big treasure chest in an area where a boss is, to reach the boss you need to fight some enemies that get stronger and stronger, after you loot the chest the enemies shouldn't respawn on you * make point of interest locations visible from afar, somewhere in the distant, blurred if possible (the mountain you must pass through, a tower with the end boss, the doomed castle up on the biggest hill you can make, or have stuff happening deeper and deeper in a valley from which the player can see as he starts on the top of a mountain) * have path guiding elements: signs, roads, torches lighting the way - the player is more likely to follow these than wander around aimlessly, and if he does, add thick forest and brush to deter him -- JeFawk

Plenty of folks buy every version for the graphics XD Since you cannot use them otherwise. I finally got it due to a sale, since I wanted its graphics but some plugins I have for MV have extra features only in their MZ versions @.@;;; but then you do have a rare few with the opposite...several of MongHunter's plugins are a good show of that and have more features weirdly in MV instead of MZ.

XP is more than capable of making pretty much whatever you want! Might need to utilize some plugins to get some features that are built in to later versions of RPG Maker, but as with any creative endeavors, work with what ya got! In the camera world, we have a saying: "The best camera in the world, is the one you have." That same idea applies to game development. The best engine in the world, is the one you have. Don't let your means limit your creativity!
