Yes, and that piece of road between Bothaville and Hoopstad was really bad for me. A real challenge road for someone who hates potholes 😂😂😂
@thetravelingtortoises6 ай бұрын
What road???!!! 🤣🤣🤣 we also hate potholes but yeah there we just had to make it a game! But lucky the bikes handle the potholes amazingly so when we made a mistake or the potholes was to much they saved our bums!

loving the series, awesome thank you. Its amazing to think that the impact that caused the Vredefort dome is probably responsible for the fossils you get to see in Namibia in your later videos. Id like to think that one creature was chilling on that rock and boom...

Aah the Free State, beautiful, but the majority of the towns are vrot. Such a pity hey.😢
@thetravelingtortoises6 ай бұрын
Indeed, unfortunately there are not many towns in the free state that are being kept up, except for places like Clarens. It’s very heartbreaking sometimes

Hello. Loving the trip & the only constant in life is change. so as long as you are flexible you will always be winning. What filters do you use on your camera? it really makes the clouds pop.
@thetravelingtortoises6 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. We are very lucky that we have the possibility to just change our route and lives on the last moment! Regarding the filter, we don’t use any. The cameras are GoPro hero 10’s set on normal colour (not vivid on anything) and we don’t do anything in the editing program with the colours. So unfortunately I can’t help you there.

Getting stung while riding is not fun. I usually ride with my visor up and recently got hit by a bee of some sort just above the eye. Didn't get stung, though, thankfully. Hope your sting quit burning quickly.

Lucky you didnt get stung! Cissy burned for a couple of hours but she was fine. Its one of those pains of the game. But we try and dodge them if we can 🤣

Hi you two travelers i see that you make use of the Garmin Montana 700 series, question is how functional is the map`s in towns and city`s and also the topoactive maps are thay accurate? I am interested in getting one and need to know what you like and dislike of the unit.
@thetravelingtortoises6 ай бұрын
Hi thank you for your comment, we use the Garmin Montana 700i version. It does everything perfectly once you get use to how it works. Keep in mind it was not designed for a vehicle gps, it can do it and does it very well but the layout and how things work is a bit diffirent than the normal vehicle gps. You can download city navigator and all sorts of maps and it works great. The topoactive map with some custom layovers is what we use most of the time and it is 100% accurate. It has never let us down till this day. We use the i veraion as we also use the inreach function as a sat coms system. Hope this helps. Its brief but maybe it answers some questions.
