Hi Friends! Today we're doing a morning basket (group subject) lesson together. I'm going to be honest...the day of filming this, was a rough day. There were attitudes and other unpleasantness that truly made for a rough time. Not every day looks like this, but some definitely do. There are also plenty of interruptions (which DOES happen every day haha). Each day we select different books for each subject, but we always cover Bible, history, science and one extra topic such as art, music or poetry. My kids are younger than yours, but I let them play for a while when they lose focus and can’t pay attention. After they get the energy out we come back later. Granted my oldest isn’t old enough for kindergarten this year, but trying to get in the habit of having patience and grace is a skill

I was thinking the same thing.. it's hard to see honest videos.. or at least moms are of course showing only the best side of their kids, it's completely understandable but I'd like to see how hard it really is homeschooling wild kids.. or what to do when the child doesn't stay sit and all that jazz

We love the poetry book Sing a Song of Seasons. Nice, short poems for each day of the year. My young kids have enjoyed most of them. However, like you I am learning to appreciate poetry and there are a few that leave me scratching my head. 🤔 🤣

O girl! No, I definitely have to work on patience (or lack thereof 😳). I promise I’m not always calm…something I’m working on though too. We’re all a work in progress for one thing or another.

My 5th grader needs a lot of work on his multiplication facts too. And I don't know if you do this already, but I often take those practice sheets, put them in plastic page protectors, and use dry erase markers on them. Saves Ink!

The lizard mode is cute!!! It seems like God knew that the devotional is just what you all needed!!! You are also an encourager!!! We only do poetry in language arts!!! Lola is cute doing science!!! This is making me want ti start science with my youngest!!!

I had to laugh because my girls are the same way. ones a kindergartener and the other is in 2nd grade. I don't understand how you will be teaching about one thing and they randomly start talking about something else.
