Sucks that they both needed setups, I hope they're fixable! It's interesting because Schecter and ESP are cousins in a way (both currently owned by Hisatake Shibuya), so you pretty much got a family pack 😂 Also if you end up checking out higher-ish end Schecters with a better supplier, I think the Reaper 6 FR would be right up your alley!

I'm not impressed with LTD at all. I bought my first one for $1500 (M1000) so not exactly super cheap, and it had terrible QC (made in Korea which is supposed to be good...), didn't even come with a damn gig bag at that price. I returned it and I'm waiting for a replacement.

I was considering an LTD M-200 myself a few weeks ago, but in the end went for a cheaper Jackson JS32Q DKA and couldn't be happier. Nearly perfect guitar for the price, very playable out of the box!

@@TaylorDanley I have bought several over the years and I think most of the time someone puts the inspection tag in and candy and call it good. I have got guitars with Evertune from them so out of whack that they needed a total setup. No way a 55 point inspection on an Evertune guitar could show up so bad.

Sweetwater’s 55 point inspection is no joke my friend. You need to watch the video on what they actually do. Even so, shipping from the Midwest to other regions of the US are likely to experience movement. Also, sweetwater doesn’t do that inspection on guitars in this price range. It’s clearly documented on their site.

Sweetwater only does their 55pt inspection on instruments $399 and above… but with that being said I bought a Schecter Omen Elite FR from them and the setup was garbage. There’s no way it should have left a technicians hands when the first four frets were almost unplayable because the locking nut routing was cut too low causing a ridiculous amount of buzz. I shimmed up the locking nut and all is well now. How does something like that get through a 55pt inspection? LOL

@@thisguy2973 Sure, if you work at Sweetwater or are a content creator it's prolly good. Evertune can't shift in shipping really, it's sort of the whole point of it. Guitars with Evertune for sure fall into the price range of the 55 point joke.

I've bought a couple of guitars from Zzounds in the past and had a good experience, but come to think of it, I had to do some significant setup work on them out of the box. Then again, I set up everything I get, so this didn't bother me in the least but it is interesting that this is a common thing. I'm interested in the Schecter because it looks like it would be the perfect no-frills bedroom-to-stage metal guitar, based on specs and features.

Gotta be careful. Last guitar I got from MF was a Schecter that was over a grand and had too many dead spots to even play it. Their response was “we don’t do setups” I have sweetwater setup every guitar I buy before they ship. Works out great

The M200DX zzounds sent me had a bash mark in the back of the body. Pretty noticeable. But it played really well and looked killer. The sent me a partial refund to keep it as is. So I did.

I grabbed the M200DX from zZounds in purple. Like yours, desperately needed a setup out of the box but was still playable. Not bad for a budget guitar. Swapping the tuners and pickups. Idk why but the tops look like scans of intestines to me 😂

Not sure how return policies are there but in Eu i can just order and send it back and get all my money refunded if it's not as expected. Did that with several guitars from Thomann, most of them were fine but i changed my mind, a few were actually damaged like one V which had the neck half broken when it arrived.

I love Zzounds. however, I ordered a Jason Richardson sig sterling Cutlass and it was baaaaad. The neck wasn't set, delamination in the body and something funky with the electronics along with a few other QC issues. I raised the issue and they sent me a replacement from Sweetwater which was much better. I think Zzounds only QC's the high dollar guitars and they just eat the cost when the cheap stuff bombs. I'll still buy from Zzounds but I think I'll be buying guitars elsewhere after that debacle.

I have purchased - or tried to anyway - two schecter guitars. BOTH of them were just like this, completely unplayable - nuts werent cut correctly, they were just string up and shipped out. Neck was twisted, or wasnt even screwed in all the way. Just embarassing. Never again.

There are more reactions to the title than the actual video. Neither arrived broken, then just needed to be set up. Granted, they could have at least got them closer to being right than they did. Still people should be playing if they can't do at least a decent set up on their own.

@TaylorDanley No. I'm just saying a lot of online sites don't set up their guitars. I know Musican's Friend was infamous for doing this, as was Sam Ash. They never opened the boxes they got shipped to them, meaning however the factory left them was how you'd get them. You should be ready in case they aren't perfect and know how to set up a guitar or at least know someone who can. I find it annoying when people send back guitars as if they are broken just because they couldn't bother to adjust a few things. Sure, if the guitars are legit messed up, then by all meant, send them back. But unless you're new to the playing guitar, it's rare to not need at least some tweaks when you first get them. I just think some people expect their guitars to show up like they had their own personal Roady handle the guitars before they touch them. It's part of learning the instrument to also learn how to do at least a setup.

I had to quit buying guitars from zzounds. I will buy pedals and everything else but not guitars. They dont spot check the guitars at any point from when they get them until they ship them to the consumer. I've gotten 4 guitars that have arrived mangled. I prefer Sweetwater where I can pick the model and then get a zip file of actual pictures of the guitar.

Completly unrelated; but i just got a jackson js32 warror with a floyd rose! Was wondering, have yoy over played that model? If so, whats ur opinion on the licensed "floyd rose"? Will it need upgrading? And if you were to swap those stock pickups, what would you recommend (If you cant tell what music i plan to play with a axe like this, its metal lol)

I go play my uncles some times and they are really good. He has like 20 but the one I like is the 30 inch bucket head. I think I’m gonna pick up one of their other baritone models. I think they are the jazzmaster copy or something. My uncle was telling me that the people that make these are the same people making guitars for other major companies. Idk if that’s accurate. Once on my way home from a Slayer concert in the early hours of the morning. I suddenly needed to poo, I knew it was bad because my belly was hurting and I needed to poo right there and then. I was on a street surrounded by houses with absolutely nowhere to go. I decided to jump the nearest fence and Chuck a poo beside a bush so cars wouldn't see me.
