I would have undoubtedly found the underground pub. The comment you are replying to is right. This was a bad change. The resolution looks off too compared to the rest of it. Adding a pub to Lumbridge may have more serious repercussions than Jagex thinks... the NPCs of Lumb are used to living in their tight knit community where there is not much to do and nothing ever changes. The addition of this pub will expose these NPCs to a level of freedom that they have never know before! Instead of staying in his axe shop all day, Bob may decide to blow off some steam at this new pub from time to time. Who will sharpen our axes?! And what will happen when Farmer Fred leaves his quest start location for a quick brewski??? Who will the new mobile players of OSRS give their 20 wool they have been grinding all week now to get? I am afraid that this pub will have a domino effect in Lumbridge that to put quite plainly we are not prepared for. And lets face it... the Doomsayer will be the first to the bottle. This small change to Lumbridge could mean nothing... Or this small house conversion could be a lynch pin!! PREPARE FOR THE WORST Y’ALL. Nations shall rise and fall! Entire quest lines shalt topple! It is impossible to add something without taking something away. If you add a new NPC standing outside of Lumbridge it takes away that iconic spot of emptiness that used to be there. Lumbridge would look worse if it was cluttered with lots of buildings so i think it is better to replace a useless house than to add a new pub in some empty area.

Wait, why does it even have to be in a pub anyways? Could this creepy old man for the quest not just be in an old house instead of in a pub? Like, I don't see a reason why the Level 2 Man's house has to be demolished and replaced with a Pub just so this old man can stand there. He could have easily just been in the same house? He could be standing outside the house, he could be hanging out in the Lumbridge general store, he could be quite literally anywhere in Lumbridge that doesn't require demolishing and replacing buildings with Pubs. Not sure why him being in a pub for the quest start is required, I just did the quest and it isn't like the pub is actually a part of the quest's storyline or anything.

the range in that house was actually quite important for fishing/cooking slamon/trout/pike in lumbridge since you can't cook them on the spitfire in the goblins hut, now people fishing there have to run an extra mile to lumbridge castle or the house next to the cemetary to cook their fish

This extra quest adds a quest point making the most F2P quest points you can get 43 which is the requirement for Tears of Guthix quest and it can now be a new members first quest.

The poll was to bring Blessed D'hide Chaps and Vambs in line with their Black D'hide counterparts. I'll admit, I did vote no myself, but later regretted it when the above was pointed out to me.

this was my house. in 2007...one of my best memory in this game is this house. i know one guy was training ranger all day long m, with trimmed black armore (gold) and a longbow.. and all i wanted was his gear, so i grind hard fot that he told for 500k i can afford one. my only goal was this gear. and now i still playing.

see, the problem i have isint the actual updates, its that they just went a put stuff in without our consent to it, i mean when osrs came back the whole market sell line was that we vote for all the updates and changes, so the fact that they are just bringing stuff in of their own accord without our say, is disregarding the main promise they put into place when they brought osrs back.. the reason this is a issue is more so that whenever developers and companies try to do something against their own rules and people just go "well its a 1 time thing, so i guess its okay" tends to be them doing it again and again but just a little bit worse each time. basically this spells trouble to me when they just force updates onto us because for all we know it can turn into another rs3 situation.

eh, practicality over sentimentality while I dont like the general assumption that major map changes like this are ok, I want to say that decisions like this ultimately need to be made out of practicality over the sentimental value of what the place meant and has meant. These things need to be considered yes but when it stands in the way of making practical and meaningful use of an immediate area that you're started in then I trust the team to go ahead and make the necessary changes to properly adjust to the flow of play that everyone understands now that we never had foresight into before (because of the incredibly organized and prioritized access to player feedback they have now) there are changes to get mad about, changes that eventually will overstep the boundaries of what osrs stands for to the current players and development as a whole, and we will, but a tiny, unused house being changed to a quest used building only goes towards livening the purpose and use of an area thats most active player base is dramatically newer to the game than the fans of the game are tldr get mad about big unpolled map changes, not tiny city hall rabblerouser level map changes that can logically be dismissed for the greater overall experience of the game
