I love the Jacksons mini series! However you are correct, they needed more time. Since the film ends in 1984, I understand why the sisters weren't included more as far as their careers. When the movie jumped from 1976 to 1983 I was shocked! The Destiny/ Off The Wall/Triumph era and their success at writing and producing was completely glossed over!

💯. Now imagine if the original mini series ended with the Jackson's doing their variety show in Vegas and we get to see a montage of what the siblings did after parting their separate ways as adults.

Yes, good point. I also liked their first two albums of the epic label era, first ‘JACKSONS’ and second ‘Goin’ Places’. A little insight on how well Randy continued to fix into the group and actually show his ‘musician chops’ on the keyboards as well as the congas’.

It’s because the story is not about the Jackson 5 the jackson’s mostly they did not include off the wall album years so 1976 to Motown 25 so did skip lots out

I agree! I also think they need to have smoother transitions of the Jackson’s ages changing because in the original, you didn’t know who is who unless we got a name drop and I feel like or use context clues I feel like they should use the new edition story way of switching the actors!

That’s a great idea . If this ever came to reality, I would definitely throw my hat in the ring and audition for the role of Jermaine in the later years. There were too many things that weren't accurate.. dates were wrong..they jumped from the j5 straight to thriller.. no destiny or off the wall.. no mention of the jacksons variety show. Choreographies were wrong.. they had Marlon as the darkest child when he and Latoya were the lightest.. and Michael did not fall down the stairs all dramatically when his hair caught fire.

And I agree it would be nice to see a new re-vamp A brighter retelling of the original story with some more of their career & life's added & yes more of all 3 sisters Janet of course. Great idea but yes, probably will not happen. So many mini-series/tell-how-we-got-started’ shows and movies out their of so many groups and individuals. Also the idea of adding ‘a little favor to the truth’ (lie a little bit) to make it interesting or shocking enough for millions to want to see it. Of course, my opinion, I’m getting old. Basically I’m just grateful to hear and experience so many talented musicians and singers in my lifetime. Maybe we don’t need to know as much as we want to about them.

I agree that it needed to be extended, but I don't think it should get a remake. Maybe a TV series under a different title, but if they remake it with the same or similar title it will just be compared, nostalgia with corrupt our minds, and we'll likely hate it. I personally think the original cast not only did an amazing job, but they also looked very similar to their real-life counterparts.
@StayTunedReviews
@StayTunedReviews 2 жыл бұрын
That's a good suggestion. After all, the intention for the original series was to be made from the perspective of Catherine and Joe, but the series essentially tried to fit all of the significant events with Michael into the series while treating everyone else as side characters. Nevertheless, I do agree that a TV series is the best way to flesh out the family. Giving the earlier seasons the opportunity to focus on the older children while focusing on the younger kids in the later seasons.
@lisacox3750

Some of the cast looked like their real-life counterparts and others looked nothing like them. The older Jackson brothers...that was hilarious how really none of them looked like the real brothers except Wylie as Michael and Jermaine only because it was played by his real son. And as much as I love Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs as Joe...he didn't look like Joe AT ALL. Haha. Joe was light skin with blue-green eyes. I think they really kind of didn't care what some of the actors looked like as long as they could act.

No.... but to have a proper MJ standalone bio pic that would be a big screen hit. This was a made for tv event but to have a true movie like how they treated like Bohemian Rhapsody and the reason why it hasn't been made because of those allegations. It would be hard to cast for Michael because he was only 5'9 and no more than 120lbs and to have a very thin nose black actor. Some makeup would help but to go digital, they digitized Ralph Fiennes nose for Vorldemort in the Harry Potter, so they would have to go that route. I do have a story I wrote in 2011. "POP", sets up at the after success of Thriller and up to his death. I'm aiming for a PG13 rating due to the given content of what we all know about the music, the life and the horrendous false allegations. Like how they treated Bohemian Rhapsody, of the celebration of Michael Jackson's music. I'm hoping either Sony or Universal would pick up my story and script. I have a great cast in mind Samuel L Jackson (Joe) and Octavia Spencer (Katherine) but to cast Michael would be the hardest spot to cast.

@TheRequiemOfficialReal
@TheRequiemOfficialReal 2 жыл бұрын
@@StayTunedReviews I hated that movie, Flex is like 6'2. Michael wasn't that "masculine", that movie was a disappointment. I want a truthful story to truly give him his justice and give him a proper legacy to leave behind. I want to go beyond the pain and anguish of the allegations, dive deep into the making of Captain EO, Thriller, Bad and want to pick up where this left off but more of Michael's story. Focus more on the truth of his life and health with a popping soundtrack.
@lisacox3750
@lisacox3750 Жыл бұрын
There will never be a good Michael biopic because nobody wants to tell the real story. Everyone wants to paint Michael as either an angel or a monster and he wasn't either. He was a complex individual like most people. Some fans aren't ready to hear the whole truth though. I want an unbiased version that will tell the facts...and I don't expect they will do that. I'm a fan of Michael but I want a factual and objective/nonbiased account. That's all I want. I know too much of the real story to fall for any kind of film. I know a lot of fans want to hear what they want to hear...but I'm not that kind of fan. Just give me the good, bad, and ugly as long as it's the truth.

@@TheRequiemOfficialReal Lol you pick on Michael's height but he actually outgrew some of his older brothers aka Tito and Marlon, and he was actually the same height of his father. I'm pretty sure Laurence Hilton-Jacobs who played Joe Jackson in The Jacksons' movie, was taller than the real Joe Jackson. A lot of child stars end up being short or average at best: Bow Wow, Jackson Brundage, Frankie Muniz, Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green, Jeremy Jackson, Donny Osmond...

@@StayTunedReviews You are right and that's why I loved the New Edition Story. You can tell they all contributed to the story. I saw them talk about how they were all asked to tell their individual stories and all of their stories were included in the way they wanted. And you could tell...which is why their miniseries was so good! This miniseries was good, but it was also obvious most of the family had no input. This was Jermaine and his girlfriend at the time's project. The brothers provided no input beyond signing authorization to use their likeness. They really didn’t make Joe Jackson brutal enough. After the Jackson 5 took off, Joe’s character just became so quiet and stern. In real life, he played such a manipulative hand in the lives of his children. I wish they would’ve shown more antagonism on his end. Someone could leave the show actually feeling sympathy for a man that was ambitious and cruel to his family.
