People WANT Remington to succeed. But nobody is willing to be a charity donor for that success to occur. If you want to succeed, you need to restore the sterling reputation for qualiity and craftsmanship that the brand once symbolized. How many R51s can a company introduce and stay viable? Almost everyone who wants a great "Remington" buys a non-Remington of that pattern-- a Bergara, or a 700-footprint custom of some sort. Meanwhile as Remington struggles, there are more makers of $1200 custom actions than you can shake a stick at, many of them improved 700s. The 700 estabished the modern bolt action aftermarket and is still the dominant pattern. The 700 is to bolt action aftermarket what Glocks are to handgun aftermarkets. And just as Glock is withering with its failure to innovate while others build on their success, Remington will die if it doesn't take seriously the damage done to its brand. Far too much junk has been made with the Remington logo-- enough to make people forget that the brand once meant a standard of excellence. Rem needs to think about the next decade, not the next year-- it will take a long time to undo that damage it has done itself. Rem can do it if they have the will to. But it will mean trying hard to COMPETE with superior products at affordable prices rather than overpriced junk that's whoring out the brand logo.

when will we see the model 700 5r gen 2 back in the stores, I've been looking for months and it's always sold out.

I just bought a brand new 700 and I'm hoping it's like the old days. I had a 338 win mag and a 308 that were the most accurate dependable rifles I ever shot. I shot them in the deep south in high temperatures to Saskatchewan in December always performed flawlessly

I handled a new one today, a BDL in 6.5 Creedmoor...nice looking rifle...fit and finish were very good and the bolt was slick. I hope they make the 6.5 in a heavy barrel SPS Tactical or Varmint.

Remington Firearms is back I'll believe it when KZbinrs say it. There was a time that the Remington 700 was the most accurate rifle you could buy. Now? Remington is the joke of the gun industry. You took your reputation for quality, and flushed it down the shitter. And your products are wildly overpriced. Shooters want Remington to be a quality gun again. But we're going to shop elsewhere until that quality is proven. You broke our trust.

Any plans to resume production of factory magazines for discontinued rifles like the 740, 7400, 7600 series? The mags equipped with the bolt release are preferred as the after market versions don't offer that feature and are of questionable reliability 🤔

Ok Remington. You see the comments. If you're really back...you don't have to say a thing. Build the best there is, and the word will get around. Word of mouth advertising is the best you can have...and the least expensive. Or, as you read here, the worst...and the most costly.

Remington has been a joke for decades, their Q.C. has been in the toilet this century. Years ago, I purchased a 870 Wingmaster in 20 gauge, and I went out of my way to wait and buy one manufactured in the 1960s, no way I was going to buy a brand new 870. No other company can compare to this one; used to be legendary and became one of the worst in the industry. And thank God I bought my New Haven made Marlin lever actions before Remington acquired them and turned that company into shit.

Dead cat bounce, this is what it is. Just trying to grab as much as from the recent run on guns and ammo and cash their retirements before it crashes and burns. I wonder how much money they paid to a PR firm to write up a text for this guy to read it on a video. Keep your cash, put it on other precious metals and guns and ammo, without a Remington name.

I'm cautiously optimistic. My last shotgun was the first non-Remington I ever purchased (a Beretta A300 which is awesome). I hope this new company walks it's talk.

Glad Remington is back. I bought my first Remington 700 back in 1992 in the USA and brougth it back to my home in Switzerland and still using it. In the last 10 years, quality get wors and Remington was trying the keep up with cheap supplier like Savage and so on. You introduced some cheap models with low quality, flimsy plastic stocks. If plastic stock, yes but than good quality stocks. As professional Marketing guy, in may opinion it was wrong. You have not to be the cheapest, but if you want to play in the higher priced area, you have to have good quality product. So you will be able to sell it even in Europe. That is only a tip from a professional Marketing guy in pension and right now a professional shooting teacher out of Switzerland.

All they have to do is remake the classics, back to late 1980s/1990 standards, and the rest would fall in line.

Well I looked at your "New Products" I am really not happy with the fair prices you talk about what a complete joke. Your guns are not interesting and with a CEO that has run Remington into the ground not once but 2 times I can expect products that underperform and are sold at a incredible price not worthy of the Remington name. Remington used to be for joe 6 pack now they seam to think they are Benelli, perhaps you should look at other companies that did this same thing Gander Mountain comes to mind they thought they were Bass Pro or Cabela's they in fact did not have that customer base and their customer left in droves (I am one of their old customers), where are they today MMMmmm well their out of business you might keep this in mind.

I'll take a couple dozen Model 700 extractors if you have any lying around. Throw in some ejector kits too while you're at it. It's been the only thing harder to get than primers.

Quality is king. When the typical product has a flaw it's not a big deal to ship it back to the manufacturer for repair. With firearms it's a much bigger hassle. Be interesting to see what some of the independent, not bought and paid for gun tubers have to say about the quality coming off the new line.

This guy needs to be in jail for how he ran the original Remington company in the ground. He screwed over the employees and community, Then got put back in charge through a shady backroom deal.
