Yet, despite his pain, and with tumors ravaging his entire body, his spirit was indomitable. I admired him greatly, and like many others around the world, I was very saddened when he passed.

I think he really convinced himself that he would make it somehow against all odds. He was looking for solutions until the very end. He even says he doesn't feel like he is losing the battle. Most humans eventually come to accept that the end is near and prepare for it accordingly, mentally, spiritually. I don't know if he ever allowed himself to do this, at least he no longer showed it on his videos. He only showed doubts and sadness in videos in the early part of the year in February. In front of the camera he only allowed himself to show positivity in these videos.

Dan is such an inspiration. everyone should live the way he does every single day. there's alot to be said of Tim McGraw's song live like you were dying. that came out when my dad was fighting his own battle with cancer. even though he was a wonderful man before that song,it still changed him to an even more patient and quick to forgive man. it made him appreciate every moment and do things he'd always wanted to do no matter how sick he was. Dan reminds me so much of him,such a gentle soul. I miss him so much. keep living Dan,you deserve every drop of happiness!
