My great grandmother was in the same class as Anne Frank’s elder sister. They were close enough that she was invited to Anne’s last birthday party - before my great grandmother escaped to America with some close relatives. Ever since I was a kid, she would tell that story to me and soon I got her copy of the diary of Anne Frank. Sadly she passed last January so those stories she would tell are no longer from the witness, rather the person who listened.

Anne Frank's story is so inspiring. I wasn't taught the story of Anne Frank when I was in school. I got to know about Anne Frank through Boy Meets World. After that I started watching the animated movie of Anne Frank. Last year on my first semester of College I went to the library and and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the diary of Anne Frank. It wasn't a big thick book. It was just a thin small book but it was really good. Even though I already watched the movie reading the diary actually taught me more about Anne's life. I feel so bad for this sweet talented innocent girl. She was only 15 when she passed away. She had her whole life ahead of her. She had so many dreams of becoming a writer and publishing her diary. Now all we can do is to remember her and take her life as a lesson for all of us. We should try to make the world a better place for all humankind.

The diary of Anne Frank is the only book I stopped reading as I already knew what would happen at the end, I accidentally read the ending which gives the trauma of how they both die without seeing her family again. Back then the words of fear and despair rung so loud they became oppressive. But now generations forwards the words of a young girl ring much louder. louder than hitlers, whose words were spoken on megaphones and from crowds with fever, now only a distant voice of the past fading more each day, while her’s only continues grow. WW2 was no doubt a testament to how low the standards of humanity can fall. And every person in every room you will enter will agree to that fact. And that in and of itself is a testament to how high our standards have risen. We can choose to see it as the former, yes but we can also choose to see it as the latter. I believe that our world has grown to be a beautiful place, that it is a beautiful place and we can continue to make it so. I think we can continue to make our world one miss Anne Frank enjoy living in. I wonder what she would think of things now ❤

Who was Anne Frank? Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who lived during World War Two. She was born on June 12th, 1929 in Frankfurt and spent most of her life in Amsterdam- (The Netherlands.) When Anne was 13 years old, Her family went into hiding in a secret annex to avoid being captured by the nazis who were persecuting Jews and other minority groups during the war. While in hiding, Anne kept a diary in which she recorded her thoughts feelings and experiences. Her diary is now famous and has been translated into more than 70 languages. It provides a first hand account of life during the holocaust and is an historical document. Tragically, Anne and her sister Margot were discovered by the Natis and they were killed in March nineteen, 45 Anne’s father, Otto Frank, was the only member of the family to survive. He found Anne’s diary and decided to publish it. The diary of Anne Frank has since been translated into many languages. (Full credit to talesandscenario)

When I was a freshman, my school did the play. I was on sound tech. If hurt so much to watch my friends pour their hearts into these characters, these *people*, and connect with their stories. Especially hearing their screams. Oh, those screams. I can't imagine what it felt like for them. A little bit of Edith Frank stayed with Sonia. She never let her go.

Although this is sad, it is a good reminder to remember the past and the lessons we are taught from it. We also need to remember and honor the victims and heros that fought in these wars as well. I continuously see people make Nazi jokes in public or in videos. It just breaks my heart (as 3 of my family members were taken to concentration camps during the war) that people would make jokes about such terrible people and the things they did to others.

My teachers chose me to be her for the wax museum at my elementary school (because I’m Jewish) and I almost cried giving my monologue to the strangers and parents who put pennies in my cup. She was so young and so talented.

Reminds me of a saying or sm that says sm like “Even if you believe it will benefit some, if it harms others, EVERYBODY is affected negatively, possibly forever, not just the people you’re targeting.”

I love the whole animation style but I have to be honest, this is kinda disrespectful even if it didn’t have that intention at all. It depicts her life, friends and survival as a pretty to look at comic book character with flying and all when it was not a pretty comic book character, it was a time of mass murder, extreme racism, rape, torture, gas chambers, the murder of gay people, it wasn’t just Jews, it was all who weren’t 100% white German and Nazi. People had to fake being nazis/white to just live, families that hid Jews, like franks, were brutally murdered and hung for what they did to help, same with Anne franks family. I get this animation had good intentions, but I really don’t think it’s good to make her look like a dreamy character, she was a very real teenage girl who lived through a terrible time and died a terrible death.

A lot of art has symbolism. Though honestly it being a good interpretation depends on survivors and their families.
@pickleriick4204 ай бұрын
@@madisontucker649 I think the issue here is not art depicting real tragedies, art has always done this. The issue is the way this somewhat fictionalizes real events, making it appear more like something that happens in a series than real history, which can have an overall negative effect despite good intentions. Its very important to critically examine the roll of art and media and to understand the potential differences in impact between something like this and, for example Goya's work, (he had a series of engravinga depicting scenes from Spain's war of independence against France).

We will remember Anne because she was just a child who went through very bad things. Every thing was horrible what happened to Anne and others. It is about 80 years ago. We shouldn't let the people who stole life from children from ALL THE WORLD. At that time it was a massacre against Jews, now it is a massacre against Palestinians. We should be HUMAN and say NO GENOCIDE! #NOGENOCIDE #ALLEYESONRAFAH

Israel is not committing genocide - the destruction of any national, racial, ethnic, or religious group. Israel is seeking the destruction of Hamas, a terror group that states its intent to destroy the state of Israel in its founding charter. Israel's campaign in Gaza is an act of self-defense, and the Jewish state goes to great lengths to prevent civilian casualties. Each civilian death is a tragedy and when those tragedies occur, calls for holding those responsible are understandable. Israel’s military operation to defend itself after Hamas’ October 7 atrocities, has been falsely described as genocide against the Palestinians. Such accusations of genocide pervade the scholarly discourse, social media, the vitriol of anti-Israel protesters, and even a spurious accusation filed by South Africa in the International Court of Justice. Few claims are more offensive and blatantly wrong. The modern-day Jewish state was created after the Nazis committed the genocide known as the Holocaust, murdering six million Jews who had nowhere to go and no place to call home because there was no Israel. Of course, the implied hypocrisy that the survivors of genocide are now committing one of their own makes for a powerful talking point in the war of words surrounding the conflict between Israel and Gaza. But it’s simply not true. Even worse, charging Israel with genocide gives a free pass to the Hamas terrorists who are deliberately engineering the immense harm that innocent Palestinians are experiencing today. Since October 7, Israel’s objective in Gaza has been to destroy Hamas, a terrorist organization that carried out an unprecedented and brutal massacre against its people, including infants, children, elderly and disabled people. The goal of Hamas is to wipe Israel and Jews off the map, and its representatives have recently reiterated that they will never stop pursuing it. That’s an example of genocidal intent.

I've read both Ari Folman's graphic novels and I've loved them. For me the remembrance of the Holocaust has always had a special meaning (I'm not Jewish, but Christian. But it doesn't matter in this case, always remember the victis of a disaster). And the graphic novels and this film are both a great example of animation for this thematic. 😢😮☺️. Anne Frank for me wasn't just a great testimony of the Shoah, but also the greatest example of a young person full freedom and carefree, even during WW2 and the Holocaust.
