This Hades is good, but I prefer when they hired an actual mountain to sing his parts.

I love to see how this show has evolved over the years. Every iteration is great.

I know it's meant to be a seduction, but - more so in the recorded album than this - Hades seems more fatherly towards Eurydice to me? Like, he's not sexual towards her at all, just offering her a way out because he's concerned for her; he's not evil, he clearly believes he's right.

I know this comment was made five years ago but - yeah, it's kinda like a seduction song, but not quite literally? I guess? To me, I don't think Hades is attracted to Eurydice, at least in the later versions of the musical. It has those undertones, though. As for the father thing, I kinda disagree because he doesn't really care about her well-being,he's more like using her? He thinks he's right, yes. He really cares about Persephone and tries to build all these things for her bc he doesn't believe that love can last without riches to keep her put.

This is super different. Like its more subdued and there's such a melancholic tone that this performance is both different and glorious. And while the Hades here was excellent, I did a double take at the sound cause like, wow, I've never heard that song sung by someone with a tenor/baritone voice. It legit threw me for a loop, but I definitely loved the way he did it.

This is performed in the style of the original concept album, at least in the instrumentation. It stars Bon Iver as Orpheus. Highly recommend if you haven't already listened to it.

@@danielhortonmusic I've definitely listened to it since I saw this video but I was so used to Patrick Page on both the Broadway and Live recordings that this was jarring. Wonderful but unexpected.

this just makes me immeasurably happy, I'd give anything to gather enough musicians and singers to perform this and do it justice..

Anais Mitchell wrote a brilliant opera and everybody should see it. Jacqueline Stem, I had no idea you performed in this show! What a beautiful coincidence. Everybody should listen to her record "Steams of Consciousness" It's also brilliant.

@@ammarul-haq4300 sorry I was dumb when I commented this a year ago, what you said is technically true, basically what happened is when they formulating his character they experimented with baritones and tenors, then it was decided to get a true bass and for that they found Patrick
