Classical guitars are our passion! We are specialized in the highest quality concert guitars as well as historic guitars from around the world. Our passion for these unique instruments and the joy to give guitarists, passionate players, and collectors the possibility to purchase their own appropriate instrument is the motivation that drives us. Another focus is to work closely with established and young, largely unknown luthiers. Together we want to develop new ideas and share experiences with our customers.
We also recorded pieces for many great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Isaac Albeniz (Asturias). You will also find almost all the classical music composers that wrote for the classical guitar. Make sure to discover Agustin Barrios Mangoré, Manuel Maria Ponce, Heitor Villa-Lobos and many more if you don't know their compositions already
You can find our show room in 76137 Karlsruhe, Roonstr. 31, Germany

Jim Redgate is a highly sought-after Australian luthier, known for his guitars built for artists such as Ana Vidovic, Pepe Roméro and Odair Assad. This lattice-braced model is an exact copy of the guitar that Ana Vidovic plays. Jim Redgate’s instruments have their own sound and touch. The breath-taking volume combined with rich harmonics and impressive clarity of sound are quite unique. The playability is fantastic, and the guitars are relatively light in weight compared to the Australian standard.
We’ve of course heard Ana Vidovic in concert many times playing on a Redgate guitar, but this guitar convinced us even more of the quality of Jim’s work. The honesty and spontaneity of each note, the magnificent volume, the ease of playing, and the unique sound character of this guitar make it an instrument not only rare in Europe, but above all extremely enchanting.
Luthier: Jim Redgate
Construction year: 2019
Top: Cedar/Lattice
Back and sides: Bolivian rosewood
Scale: 650 mm
Nut: 52 mm
Weight: 1633 grams
Air resonance frequency: G
This video was recorded during a concert in November 2016 at the Asamsal in Ettlingen, Germany.

I remember playing and studying this piece, practising it over and over. The beginning is especially catchy for the player. It is a beautiful piece. It is not too difficult to play but you cannot get complacent with it; it demands a lot of phrasing, attention to tempo, and tonality to make it sing as Ms. Vidovic does.

Considering the amount of notes being played and the quality of sound delivered, I guess I can let go of one small (tiny) stumble midway through the piece. What I admired the most about her is that, even thought she became aware of the slip-up, Ana recovered quite gracefully and that is what admire so much about her playing. God knows, I would've been completely affected by it for the rest of the piece if not the entire evening! Ana is complete master and wish her all the best!

Puzzling to me a few listeners think her playing "mechanical (?)" - the sense of flow in Bach cannot work if it is overdone or maudlin. She gauges her interpretation faultlessly. Also, ask anyone in opera, ballet, drama or musical performance about handling an inevitable mistake - these will happen, to the most virtuosic & experienced. Part of actual talent in performance is continuing smoothly in rhythm & consistent expression through any glitch. A banal skill, perhaps, but essential; she has this down quite nicely.
@jeanvignes
@jeanvignes 4 жыл бұрын
If you consider the sheer volume of notes and the fact that each note on the guitar involves two hands in perfect timing (one fretting, the other plucking, etc.) then expecting mechanical perfection becomes silly. She's a human being of immense skill and artistry playing Bach, after all. That should be enough for any wise listener.

I am old, over 60 so, give me leverage. Most remember this being played on cello, very few know it is actually guitar. If true musicians used their ears, they would know the difference between the cadance of the cello, and the guitar. I played keyboard in my lifetime, using the best keybosrd in the world, the Korg M1. I was able to play, Brass, Strings, Harp, Flute, and at least 6 different types of guitar, along with playing bass. I could say more, couldn't be arsed. I love music, I won't have it diluted by assholes. Sorry, Andre is the God of guitar, when you match (don't need to beat), you're on the road. You still have much to learn. You will. The one thing that no one teaches is this. Love music, feel music, embrass music. Music is not a competition, it's someting to be loved, and something to be shared. And I'm talking about ALL music, even music I've no interest in. I've no end to this post, neither does music. Music doesn't end, it evolves, on all fronts. Pass it on.....
