2 years ago I had the pleasure to see these guys live at Summer Breeze (Germany). The promoters promised us to get an unforgettable experience with the insanity and heaviness like a gig by Strapping young lad. I didn't belive them...then these guys started to play at 2.15 am in the morning, the last slot of the day and our jaws dropped literally! An unforgettable performance, one of the best I've ever seen.

Sounds like....Anaal Nathrakh. They've been in "status quo" for a while now, and to me, you either like what they do or don't. I would never expect them to reinvent the wheel. This sounds as familiar to me as their last two releases, and I don't see any reason not to like it since I dig what they do. Can any long term fans who aren't impressed explain to me their reasoning? Were you expecting a fresh sound out of the band? This is just,...the sound of destruction, which is what this band does.
@imurderragdolls6 жыл бұрын
Exactly, this album completely delivered for me. If you hate new AN and the last 3 albums they've done you're going to hate this. People just can't accept they won't do another ITCOABW or Codex Necro. This album still fucking destroys and reaches those levels of intensity.

I personally thought the vocals were really good but wasn't a fan of the music - it seemed a bit simplistic and repetitive compared to how it is in their other albums; in particular, not so keen on the drumming for that reason [compare it to say how it was in Hell Is Empty...]. I think the mix doesn't do many favours because the guitar is pretty buried and everything else kinda blends into a wall of noise. Obviously this is just my opinion and absolutely loved the video for Obscene as Cancer.

Mick Kenney possesses some absolutely incredible talent...I feel his work is really underappreciated as a whole. The musical composition, the education and time that it takes to create such amazing musical noises and terrifyingly beautiful arrangements is staggering! He and Dave keep improving, diversifying and delivering absolutely brilliant overtures of extreme music for us as fans of this genre to enjoy, love and worship. Really listen to this album closely to this in headphones. The mixing and the sound effects are astounding. Dave's voice is an amazing instrument!!! When I listen to this to the music and the vocals, I feel like Nitro, King Diamond, Fear Factory, Satan, bumble bees, Jesus, a bunch of assholes, 666 witch’s that have been lit on fire, some Harry Potter movies, a dying giraffe, Anaal Nathrakh, Death, a blender, WW1, cancer tumors, black metal posers, the sun, the universe and and and and and and and and fucking 12,000 jack hammers were packed inside a fucking nuclear war head and aimed right at my fucking face for me to catch with my mouth!!! Incredible musicianship, creative writing and powerful grinding, maddening music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of the most atmospheric, emotional, dirge annihilation, obliteration, fuck you fuck off, destructive, magnificent mind-blowing imagination music out there! Nathrak albums are soundtracks to this miserable planet’s apocalypse. They are the cure for the destructiveness, blindness, inexcusable and wasteful virus of humans that pollute and ruin the entire world. The wretched people of planet Earth can totally fuck off to the sounds of A.N. as far as I am concerned. And I mean EVERYONE!!! I have to go punch myself in the face on loop, endlessly right now. Anaal Nathrak is the best music in the world. If you agree, fuck you. If you don’t agree, fuck you.

AN is so over the top that I sometimes have no response but nervous laughter. It's SO extra in every way. The unpredictable jumps from 1 to 1,000,000, the insane and bombastic vocals, the chaotic song structures... it's all so overwhelming terrifying that you constantly ride the line between madness and satire.
