Amazing, I was one of the proofreaders of the game and still you made me realize I was playing a rule wrong (once I set focus to a past Era, if I ever wanted to re-focus again during the same turn, I'd count back from that Era instead of the current one). Informative and interesting, as usual. Loving this series, you guys should be more well-known! Keep up the good work!

I know it has been a year, but that is not correct. If you re-focus, your starting point is always the current rounds era, not the era your focus is on.

I have just watched again your great review as it's been a long tme since I played Anachrony . I preferred watching your review instead of rereading the rules. >In my modest opinion you are the best game reviewers and players I know . Big hug and congratulations for your excellent job. Another solid video! Haven't had time to watch it all yet, but so far... it didn't occur to me untill 11:50 that you guys are playing on the asymmetric side of the Player boards. Cool! So it might be worth mentioning here that the player boards come with two playable sides. One side (the "A" side) allows for symmetrical play among all the boards while the "B" sides are asymmetric from each other. You guys are obviously describing the "B" side. And this doesn't even touch the multiple asymmetric sides of each of the "Path" boards (not to be confused with the player boards, as you guys pointed out). And Francis, keep up with that great smile! It brightens the video!

That you for this run-through. You drew my attention to a couple of details on the B sides that I hadn't noticed before, possibly because I've only used the B side on Tabletop Simulator so far (hard to get enough table space for real life setup.) A couple mistakes: 1) In preparation phase you reveal the next Era Superproject, so you always know what the next will be. 2) You got water for your second action in the second Era using a worker (main action) then used a free action to wake your sleeping workers. Free actions must be before the main action. Admittedly, this free action doesn't make much difference, but other free actions might. 3) The collapsing tile bonus used at 1:29 was double bonus, not double recruit. (As far as I can tell. It's hard to see, but the color looks wrong for double recruit. Frances is too kind. She should have taken that genius in the first Era. (Smiles) Archive of the ages was really what gave her the win. It was 8 points. Good job both of you.

You (may) clear the warp tile of your choice immediately after getting the anomaly, not when you get rid of it. The free actions must be played before your main action. Also you reveal the next era's super project as well but someone else mentioned it. Thanks for the video and review

I think of the Life Support building that trades a worker for 7 water as a "dehydrator" that sucks the water content out of the poor worker to quench the rest of the colony. I like to think there may have been a lottery in the colony...

A question I cant relly cant understand here =) If you have two powerplats.. one that reach 2 spaces back and one that reaches 3 spaces back... Then you cant reach 5 spaces right? You can only reach so far as the building you put your worker on can reach? You cant add them togheter?

OK, just finished the rest of the video, and I agree with most everything you said during your comments. Especially how it's definitely a "points salad" game, which I see as its only negative. Also, Anthony, you kept emphasizing what a long game it is. Yet it took you almost exactly (just shy of) two hours. Compared to any other good 2-player strategy game, that's right on par! Plus keep in mind that you slowed the game down in the early parts to explain what you were doing. And also consider that you took it to the end of the 7th Era. Several reports on BGG indicate that the game is ending around the 6th Era, usually. Though that could be due to higher player count. Any way, two hours isn't a long game. Or at least it didn't used to be, back in the day!
@AntLabGames7 жыл бұрын
bgm 1961 Thanks for the feedback! One thing to note of importance: I edit out all of the strategizing. Yes, every minute Frances and I spend thinking about our next move for every phase gets chopped out of the final playthrough. Nobody wants to sit through a minute of silence while we both AP. This was at least another hour. We started playing at 1pm and finished just before 5pm. This is why it felt so long for me. Our subsequent plays should be much faster though. But don't get me wrong, I do like a good long game.
@TheRooster19727 жыл бұрын
Slight correction - you should have the super project for the current era flipped AND the next era. Obviously the only one available is the currently focused era not the next one but certainly those in the past a fair game.
@landrysooner20154 жыл бұрын
Just curious where you see this in this rules? I've seen a couple other people say this and have looked for it, but don't see it anywhere

Great review - I will be recommending to gamers I try to entice to play. Board layout great - like putting the paradox tiles above the impact tile and End condition to left of the Main board. Breakthroughs best to stack by type not shape, as shapes easier to pick out of pile :). Also keep resource decks face up , the top one is the revealed setup and then just place on bottom to reveal new one each turn. Space is limited. The game starts with Era 1 Super project revealed and you always reveal the next Eras during the New Era/set up phase. You played with just the current era revealed. You also forgot to take free water for unused Exosuit spaces (bays). Missing that "free" water probably changed the game significantly.
@AntLabGames7 жыл бұрын
starman Thanks for the feedback! Frances took her water each round. Side B of my player board doesn't permit my faction to take water for empty exosuit bays; which is why I never took it.

Enjoyed the video, even though the game is not my cup of tea. I love Trickerion so was excited to see how this game played, but after watching your playthrough the theme just didn't come through enough for me. Thanks again for helping me come to this decision and for saving me a few bucks to invest in a different game.
@samiamagaimagain7 жыл бұрын
In a point salad type of game like this, you really need to calculate how many points each action you're taking is going to give you, especially in the final round. On your final move, Anthony could have won. Granted, he was probably pretty tired at the end there and it is more difficult to focus while filming. But my point is you need to think about how many actions it it taking to get how many points.
@aweso7 жыл бұрын
Nice video. All of the talk of water in this game makes it pretty clear where you guys are from. Especially Anthony. In terms of the game, I thought Trickerion was pretty good but not quite great and this looks like about the same or maybe slightly less good to me. I like the heavier euros like this with a lot going on, but it just doesn't look like everything comes together in the way that things do in my favorite games. Don't get me wrong I'm sure I'd like it, but I'm also pretty sure I wouldn't love it and I try to only buy games I think I'll love.

Great playthrough/review! But really? A worker placement game where the same player always goes first? It felt unfair Anthony was always snatching the cheap build action.

I think if someone takes the left capital action at the top he/she goes first in the next turn. Though it can be taken only if one of the regular capital actions is full.
