In this episode of Solo Playthroughs, Greg presents another playthrough of Anachrony, this time with the Fractures of Time expansion! Few expansions will add more complexity and depth to an already complicated game the way that Fractures of Time does for Anachrony. New to the post-apocalyptic world is The Path of Unity, who make use of Flux Cores as part of their construction. But what Flux Cores are primarily important for is "Blinking", allowing a worker in an Exosuit to take two actions within the same Era. Of course, you need to be careful in Blinking though, as doing it too much or with non-Operators can cause Glitches that can really hinder your Path's progress. Meanwhile, our opponent is the newly unveiled Chronossus with enhanced mechanics that leave Chronobot little more than a distant technological memory. Time to Warp yourself to watching this video!

*NOTE: There are four 4 rules corrections that I want to highlight for the Path of Unity/Fractures of Time: 1. There should be a starting glitch on one of the lower Exosuit spots; 2. The place that I thought was a "storage spot" for the glitch tokens is actually a benefit to the Path of Unity that I didn't even know about; 3. Chronossus should take the action corresponding to the number rolled and THEN move (not move and then take the action for the space moved to); and 4. Post-impact, in a solo game, ONLY TWO capital spaces spots get Fractures of Time tiles (not all 6) - this reduces the total number of capital actions available in Eras 4 and 5 from 14 down to 10. Very nice playthrough 👍 Couple things though: in the setup, there is supposed to be a glitch on one of the lower ecosuit positions. Why do you store the glitch tokens on the special space that you can use to store a random glitch on for the race?? You could have used that space to put the first glitch you got from blinking and thus been capable to remove the fast action token from that water facility... Well, I will give you that there are lots of moving parts in this one, and filming it all adds another layer of stuff to think about on an already complex situation 😅 You will have to play it again to correct things though 😉 Good job mate 👍

WHAT?! I thought that spot was just a "storage spot" that only appeared on the path of unity board! :) And thanks for letting me know about the glitch that was supposed to go on an exosuit spot. Considering I should have definitely taken another glitch for "blinking" at one point and considering the four water I forgot to take at one point, in a way both these set up mistakes kind of magically evened out the mistakes I made during the playthrough! ;) I really appreciate the comment, and I'm going to mention your comment in my pinned comment above. And you're right about the complications added by filming - playing these games without mistakes is hard enough without the cameras running! Thanks again, Johan!

At 1:05:06 during the "New Collapsing Capital Tiles" action, you place 2/3/4 TOTAL of the new tiles in a 2/3/4 player game. Then flip up any exposed base Collapsing Capital tiles (see FOT page 12). Also, with the Chronossus you perform the Action above or below the token, THEN advance the token. This only matters with the beginning moves. Otherwise, as usual, an excellent playthrough. I love watching these videos. You do not shy away from the complex difficulties, which sets you above the other content makers IMHO. One of your strengths is that you show multiple playthroughs with various options, characters, scenarios, etc. Also, you are not afraid to show games in which you lose. This is more realistic, and leads to some edge of my seat moments. After all, there is no challenge if we never lose! I am sad to hear that you will not be playing more Anachrony. Your playthroughs were very entertaining, and I would have loved to see you introduce this game's various modules/options, but I understand that this game is a brain drain. On the other side of the coin, I am looking forward to your upcoming "Gaia Project", "Mage Knight" and Dawn of the Zeds" playthroughs. Keep up the amazing job!

Thanks, James! So that leaves a total of 10 capital spaces post-impact (6 spaces + 2 FOT tiles + 1 World Council space per era)?! That's nuts. I'd have to watch it back to see how that changes things - lots of moving parts there. Meanwhile, thanks for pointing out the mistake with the automa doing the action and then moving - makes a lot more sense of the "passing" when the automa doesn't advance. I'll add these two mistakes to the pinned comment! As for Anachrony, a few things work against me featuring it more: 1. I don't own my own copy, 2. The 2 playthroughs haven't done great on the channel, and 3. So many other games that I personally prefer!! But I'm glad to have gotten some time to learn this one and learn what all the buzz is about. Thanks again for the assist with the rules and the kind words!
