I used to go to KD heaps back in the 90s. I remember when Anaconda was new- it and Drachen Fire over at BG were my favorite coasters for a long time. I haven't been there in over 20 years now, so it's wild to see this view and realize how much bigger Intimidator is. Back in the day Anaconda felt massive.

Honestly, it's one of those rides where the layout is good (if a little weird - the twisty section could have had an inversion or two in it) but those janky transitions and large tolerances on the wheels make it hard to appreciate. And I realized I just described most old Arrows and Vekomas.

Back in the day, this was a thrill. Now days, with the newer hi-tech & larger coasters, this is a kiddie ride compared to those. I had an old Busch Gardens brochure from the mid 80's showing the Loch Ness Monster & it was amazing to see a coaster like that back then. But now days, those coasters are a thing of the past, but i hope that the few older coasters that are in parks now, stay for a long long time to come, and don't get removed for something new..

Just an FYI to those who have been hurt on this coaster in the past due to the 'headbanging', the park refurbished the roughest part of the track prior to the start of the 2013 season, so it's much smoother now and isn't as slow at the end.

Intimidator 305. 300 ft first drop and over 90 mph. Very intense. One of the world's top rollercoasters and 8th tallest. It is currently broke down due to an issue with the lift system. A train is also stuck on the lift hill. I figure they'll have fixed in August.

Yes, but (boy or girl) if you have earrings (or an earring) I suggest you take it/them out. I went on with mine in and it hurts my ears. Beside that, it is a super fun roller coaster. I rode it once and wanted to ride it again and again. Btw, if you have your ears pierced and they haven't been pierced for six weeks yet don't take them out. Hope this helped!

Just rode it July 2013 (twice) and it's smooth as silk. Same as it was 20 years ago. Anyone that finds it gives headaches should know it is due to the G's you are pulling, not the ride. Blame yourself if you cant handle it. Perhaps you should hit the hobby horses.

Once Carowinds builds their new gigacoaster, it would be the third best Cedar Fair park, behind Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland. Kings Dominion only has a gigacoaster, while Kings Island only has a hypercoaster. Both types of coasters are awesome, but having both at one park is better.

Cazz d'Ivoire Actually, building Fury 325 would make it the second best Cedar Fair park because Canada's Wonderland only has two great coasters, Behemoth and Leviathan, and the rest are average. Carowinds has Fury 325, Intimidator, Afterburn, Nighthawk, and Thunder Road.

A lot of people complaining about this ride being rough, I didn't get that at all. I feel like people just love to give arrow shit, but they made some winners in their day. It's not the thrill of the newer coasters like the intimidator but it's really nice. The barrel rolls at the end are especially good.

It's sad to see that so many have been conditioned to B&M smoothness standards. If they go on a coaster and get tossed around in the slightest, they cry about it. One of the best parts of a coaster is getting jostled as you fly around a steel/wood track. Complainers who can't handle a little roughness on a ride are the reason why coasters such as Anaconda are trimmed to a complete stop on the mid-course break-run. Either pull your panties outta your asses, or stick to the kiddy rides.
