Beautiful trail that connects with the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. I started the walk in the Waterfront. Very safe and heavily used on weekends!!!

I so hope to be able to ride a bicycle again some day. If I can do so, I will ride this trail and watch the eagles moving into our area.

VERY DANGEROUS BIKE PATH. A gang of about ten black youths ambushed me, on Veterans Day 2016, and tried to steal my $1500 bicycle. But I got away. I was faster on my bicycle than all of them. This occurred about a quarter-mile north of the Anacostia police facility, next to the helicopter pad adjacent to BW Parkway. As I completed a police report, about a quarter-mile further south at the Anacostia; police told me that two other bicyclists were less fortunate, during that half-hour interval. Both had their bikes stolen, and one was taken to the hospital. Anacostia police confided to me that the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail is extremely crime-ridden. But they are powerless to warn the public, for two reasons. It is "politically incorrect" to say anything negative about a black community, and community leaders are trying to enhance the reputation by suppressing crime statistics. If you are white and riding an expensive bicycle, and riding alone, then plan on getting ambushed and having your bicycle stolen.
