Did 6 x 60sec (500w-750w) w/2min recovery between each yesterday, made it through the first two intervals good,. You're right I could barely pedal after the 3rd interval. Finished off the last two intervals around 350w. Was tougher than looked on paper.

right!? looks not thaaaat bad on paper. get out there and it can be brutal! need to bring rested, NON-group ride legs to that one, and carbs! keep crushing!

6 x 60 secs looks as easy training :) When I did similar session last time, I was dead for 2 days and legs hurted like after heavy squat gym session lol

hard to answer, but mostly likely not. vo2max and FTP would be better things to target IMO assuming u have enough kick if there are tough surges on the climb. really depends on the climb. some people call 1m efforts a climb, others, 30m

6 x 60sec looks more like vo2max training. If you want to increase your anaerobic capacity (aka W' or W-Prime), you must empty the storage to the very last drop and then refill it completly before repeating. It's highly unlikely you can empty it within 45-60sec. Stephen Seiler talks about this here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5S8oXWig9KhjZo The muscles will be tired before the storage is empty. I train my anaerob capacity with 2min- and 4-min all-out. My anaerobic capacity is around 45kJ.

those short efforts aren't vo2max, unless you do them tabata style. You can empty the tank for sure in 45s!! go harder! 2-4m is more vo2max training IMO. good luck!

@@EVOQBIKE I understand when you dont trust me, a random person on the internet, but you could at least trust Stephen Seiler, the endurance god himself. The reason why most people cant empty the tank in 45sec, is because our power curve ends at some point. Otherwise we could argue we can empty the tank in 10sec @ 3000 watt. That beeing said, I dont doubt you can empty your tank in 45sec. You look like a beast. 💪

ah it's not that I don't trust you; I'm just sharing my opinion on what you said. And fwiw, not really a Seiler fan. Most people can empty the anaerobic tank in 45s IMO...some can't, cause they are just bad at going hard, but if they go 2-4min, that isn't doing it either, that's way more aerobic.

What if after 30 seconds you've dropped below anaerobic and into vo2 max? Still do the full minute or stop at 30 seconds and do more of them?

good question! i'd shift to 30s ones, but maybe not more. do the 30s, come back next time and shoot for 40s...progress out to a minute!
