Your ancestors we're absolutely tough as nails, mark felton productions has done a video on "operation Potsdam" which was the name of the operation given to the 12th army and the descriptions of all the forces involved just left me wondering how the hell they could fight as hard as they did and not get destroyed by the combat divisions of the red army. His details of the fighting forces adds so much imagery to the story of operation Potsdam and i strongly recommend you check out the video and Mark Felton productions has also promised a video on the story of the 9th army in the near future so you may get more to the story of your ancestors possibly if you may be wondering about the fine little details of the rescue operation. Great softer version about a group of damned soldiers who fight only to give civilians a chance to get to the western allies on the left elbe ufer.One of this persons was my grandmother with my 5 years old father.She found her luck in bremen ,northern germany.She is dying 20 years ago and my lovely parents left this place for 5 years my father and last month my mother.I never forget ,that my child(my little princess), I or off course my parents never exist, if this soldiers don't fight until the end.In Germany we learn that Europe together is the only way for peace and we never forget the dark side of the Holocaust.But my family don't forget this soldiers from the 12th and 9th Army at the end of the war!
