One officer was terminated (he was on probation) the other officer will face disciplinary action. The chief of police, the mayor, and the prosecuting attorney called their actions reckless. Keep up the good work John.

@@LogicBob Dont project the actions of the driver onto the officer sitting in his passenger seat. He was more collected and controlled his firing way more. He discharged like 10 rounds throughout the entire engagement. Plus if hes lower on the shitting pole he likely kept shut because he doesnt know the procedure as well.

@@AlkalineGamingHD The passenger was the training officer. And even if he wasn't he has a responsibility as a man, as a moral adult, as an authority figure to stop anyone from recklessly endangering countless lives when he could prevent it without endangering his own safety AT ALL. Random Acts of Video According to the article I read, the officers were justified in their fear that the suspect was a serious danger to themselves and the public. The call came in about a man high on an unknown substance, armed with a gun and a knife. In fact, the suspect showed the gun to the officers during the chase. It was later discovered that the gun was,in fact, an air pistol. The officers didn’t know that at the time. Under different circumstances their use of deadly force would have been justified. So the probationary officer was terminated and the senior officer was disciplined. Also, their actions were called reckless, not criminal.

I am retired and I had a running gun battle on a roadway. I was the 2nd Officer in the Patrol Vehicle. The vehicle we were pursuing started shooting at us. I leaned out the passenger side and fired at the Suspect, he stopped firing so did I. The worst part and worst part of the shooting was the unburnt powder blowing back into my face! Hurts for awhile. I was a young officer today no way unless it is really only thing to do!! Many other options available! Even though I am retired but continue to train!!! Thanks Guys 👊

@Brian-my8do
@Brian-my8do 5 жыл бұрын
Legendary One the driver was shooting through the windshield while driving the car, those bullets could’ve gone anywhere (into a house, a kid, a car) and then you can clearly hear him (the perp) yelling no,no,no the fight was clearly out of him and yet the cop still shoots him until he’s dead.he should’ve stopped. If he would’ve stopped MAYBE the guy could still be alive. Don’t get me wrong IF he was shooting at the cops he deserved to be shot. That cop with the rifle shot while hanging it out the passenger side window (not smart at all) the noise alone could cause significant hearing loss to them, not to mention not very accurate since he’s to the side of the gun and not behind it. These two weren’t SWAT they were two patrol officers. Being a cop is stressful and these two can’t handle it. How am i wrong?
@MrImabeast916
@MrImabeast916 5 жыл бұрын
@@Brian-my8do Im not defending the cop that was driving, but for the officer with the rifle I don't understand how shooting out the window is "not smart at all" because its quiet clear you have 0 LE training and 0 weapons training, because IF the perp had a real gun and IF he had killed a civilian with it well guess what its the officers fault. Yes the driving officer was reckless and should've had more control but to say the other officer shouldn't shoot out the window when they perceive a suspect with a gun is absolutely absurd. Many many cases of officers shooting out the window or shooting through it. Every situation is different but in this case the passenger officer IMO did nothing wrong. He fired approx. 10 out of the 76 shots fired. As LEO's we are here to protect and serve and how're we protecting if we let a guy high on meth drive around with what we think is a real gun waving it out the window without taking action? I would have to agree they should've definitely pitted the guy first but then again they are endangering themselves getting that close to the car. Was this a justified shoot? Absolutely not, but I don't understand the viewpoint everyone has on the passenger officer. I honestly think the officer driving is Ex military cause he wanted to kill the suspect and thats what they teach in the military.
@Brian-my8do
@Brian-my8do 5 жыл бұрын
Legendary One I am ex military and have been around guns better part of my life. They were going through a residential area, you can hear the driver say not yet not yet we have people here. If they were side by side with the perp I would have a problem with it, but they weren’t. Can’t tell me that out of those ten shots he fired he hit the truck all the time, my problem is could have it an innocent person or a child. IMO it’s carelessness on the passenger officers part. If you read the article, even though they weren’t charged the DA called their actions irresponsible and reckless. So let’s just agree to disagree on this ok??

One cop who responded to a non-violent call for a friend of mine had a 17 round mag in the gun and 5 more on his belt. I asked him if he had enough ammo. He responded that there was no such thing as too much. I liked Haggard’s comment that the main cause of reloads is missing. Suppressive fire in a neighborhood like that is just not a good idea.

as an LEO I've got some significant concerns with this one too...yes they were facing a deadly threat, so shooting per supreme court case law was OK, however it was in which the manner they did it that was wrong, we have to take due regard and caution when using our deadly force options and yes Monday morning quarter backing they didn't even bother using alternative methods such as using their resources like trying to spike, PIT, keep distance and manage your other units etc....with due regard for public safety

Most people have no idea how difficult it is to hit a stationary target, while hanging out the window of a moving vehicle. I would not attempt to hit a moving target, from a moving vehicle, unless I was so far out in the desert that there was no danger of hitting some random person.

The specialty bullet Mr Haggard was talking about are BONDED HP’s or the new defender series from Underwood. Bone also destroys unbonded HP’s as well seen it a lot in trauma surgery, especially center mass bones which are some of the strongest in our body.

Great commentary. This activity makes me sick. Obviously two young untrained, video game champs unable to differentiate the screen from reality. I'm running low on ammo? I wonder why? Emptying a magazine on an immobile man and ordering him to drop a gun,priceless. And I love Chucks statement, "THE REASON YOU DO A MAG CHANGE IS BECAUSE YOU MISSED!" (Paraphrasing)

I support the police in 95% of shootings but my first thought was that scene in ‘Black Hawk Down’ when the Ranger Sergeant was shouting and panicked in the street and the special forces guys basically looks at him and calmly says in a low and slow tempo ‘ya dude Im standing right here, I hear you’. Driver played too much call of duty. Not saying that the driver didn’t deserve to be shot; he did. But not so Billy Badass Officer can escalate unnecessarily in order to play hero and endanger everyone within 300 yards. This should have been handled a lot differently even though the outcome might have been the same.

One of my first instructors, former military and police instructor, hammered Chuck's point home to my youthful, inexperienced self. If you have to use a gun to stop a car, you don't shoot the car, you shoot the driver of the car. The car doesn't care about bullet holes.

Before the officers shot him inside his truck, the man repeatedly tried to surrender in Spanish, saying “Ya no”, which translates to “No more” or “I’m done”. Maybe they didn’t hear him, maybe they don’t understand Spanish, or maybe they didn’t care. Either way, that man didn’t need to die that day.

John thoughtfully forgot to mention that the decedent's gun was not real and that the man was hallucinating. By shooting so many rounds through the windshield the policeman could easily have killed a bystander. This is a perfect example of a situation where the police made things worse instead of better. To a man with a hammer everything looks like a nail.

@@slappy1234567 Hatred for cops has tripled since the first IPhone was released.
