JMoonrise For all the people who think Anakin was just power hungry, in the scene where he reunites with Padmé, right before she tells him she's pregnant, she admonishes, "Not here," as he's kissing her. He replies, "I don't care, let them see." That's not a man who's choosing power over love. He's ready to be done with it all just to be with her. He's even more into the idea when he finds out she's going to have a baby and they'll have a family. It's when he gets brainwashed by Palpatine, into thinking that by becoming a Sith he can save her life, that he starts wanting to take over the galaxy, with Padmé by his side. To rule his own way, where a Jedi doesn't have to live in secrecy, amongst other things. I'm not sure it was power at all, as much as the freedom to love, and to stop feeling like he was being disrespected, mistrusted, and shot down by the Jedi at every turn.

@ryszardnanke38609 жыл бұрын
DanSolo0119 It was doomed because they had to lie to everyone to hide it, instead to admit it. So not the love was bad and destructive, but their decision about keeping this secret. Love did not corrupted Anakin, his lies did. Powerfull as he was and strong with the force, he was choose not to confront his problems but hide them, blaming everyone else for his failures, but not him self. If he admited, he would be expell from Order, so what ? He would be with the woman he loved. He was allways great pilot, so keeping his family would be hard for him, and with war in the galaxy, both Republic and the jedi would need his skills. On the other hand Luke is totally different, maybe because his uncle and aunt, and of course harsh teacher Yoda, he fails but he always admits it. I have seen Luke saying "I am sorry" and then trying to corret what he has done wrong, I have never seen Anakin (even as Jedi Knight) speaking this words.
@DanSolo01199 жыл бұрын
Anakin did say "I'm sorry" when Obi-Wan lectured him about losing his lightsaber. Luke was always more sincere when he said the words. Furthermore, it was also Anakin's ego. He learned early on that he was "The Chosen One", so he was convinced he was better than everyone else. Being the greatest pilot in the galaxy wasn't enough. Being a cunning warrior wasn't enough. He had to be the one to conquer even death. When you think about it, the only difference between Darth Vader and Voldemort....Darth Vader knew love.
@ryszardnanke38609 жыл бұрын

All he was destined to do was bring balance to the force. One doesn't have to achieve that by subscribing to only one side of the force. Darth Vader grew up as a Jedi, fell to the Sith, redeemed himself, and then became something more. In doing so, he brought balance to the force.

Harbinger10892 You could argue what he did to the Jedi brought real balance. By the time he was done in ROTJ there were only a handful of Jedi/Sith in the galaxy where as up to the timeline in the prequels theres were hundreds maybe thousands of Jedi while only a handful of Sith leaving the force therefor unbalanced

This soundtrack is one of the best in star wars due to the GENIUS of John Williams. When I listen to this, i feel that the song is divided in 3 parts: the first ( 0:00- 2:23 ), having a relaxed, innocent and romantic tone, demonstrating the pureness of both Anakin and Padmé, the second ( 2:24- 4:33 ) becoming slightly darker because of everything that is happening in anakin´s mind, and the third ( 4:34- the end) using the harp to make us feel like after all that happened, their love has become but a memory, a sad one. Truly amazing how this song was made!

People and critics like to say that Anakin wasn't " edgy " enough or he was" too good " at first to become such a powerful and iconic figure. He was once destined for greatness and had his whole future ahead of him, yet he let his inner demons take root and change the course of his life forever even effecting those around him who he loved. This is a cautionary tale and tragedy so many of us, including myself, have struggled with throughout life. Human nature in essence. Anakin was always my favorite because I could relate in so many ways.

See the thing is that Palpatine not only destroyed that bond between clones and Jedi but he destroyed pretty much Anakin's life and life of galaxy. Anakin was a good person. He wanted to save Padme Amidala from dying. This is the reason why he joined the Dark Forces. He believed in Palpatine's lie, who was manipulating him to do bad things (such as convincing him to kill Count Dooku) and to become an enemy to the Republic and to the Jedi Council. He told him that, if he want to save Padme's life, he must learn to use the Dark Force, until he will be enough strong to prevent her death. But the truth is another. Only one could cheat death and make other people immortal. And his name is Darth Plagueis, and he is dead, killed by Darth Sidious (Palpatine), because he didn't want to make him immortal too. Anakin was confused, because he didn't want to betray the Jedi Council. His intention was just to save Amidala. Palpatine took advantage of this fact and influenced him to join the Dark Force. He told him the Council doesn't trust him and his powers. This stirred Anakin's lust for power and he forgot a bit that his aim was to save Padme... I think that, if he told to Master Yoda about what was happening in his nightmares, and if he told him that he is the father of the children and Amidala was the mother, Yoda would have done his best to save her. Anakin was between the devil and the deep sea. If he wouldn't accept Palpatine's offer, the hope to save Padme would have been destroyed. So, he decided to join Palpatine and the Old Republic have been destroyed. Because the Dark Force inside him, his thoughts weren't clear. He thought he brought peace to the Republic, but he destroyed it, allowing Lord Sidious to create the Empire on the ruins of the Republic. Here is a philosophical question: Would you become the biggest murderer to save your love? And however, Anakin was finally good, because he saved Luke Skywalker by killing the Lord in Episode six. I think if they didn't want to make children, nothing would have been happened, and the Republic would have won the war against the Dark Forces. But when you are in love, and you marry, it's normal to want to have children. Some people say that Anakin killed Padme when he saw Obi-Wan-Kenobi exiting the spaceship. But it's not true, because Kenobi was hiding on that spaceship to find Anakin, because Padme didn't want to tell him where he is. And, secondly, Padme was alive when she gave birth to the children, and she died just after she born them, so Anakin's nightmares were true.

Perfect harmony between the images and the music. They fit so well. John William's score expresses all the facets of that particular love: joy, happiness, menace, tragedy... and that film fully transcribes each of these feelings. Great job.

Their love story is far greater than Romeo and Juliet. I just ache for Anakin because he truly loved Padme. And was willing to give up anything to make sure she lived. I honestly think theirs was the greatest love story of all time. Natalie and Hayden were perfectly matched. Beautiful couple.

The music/images mix at 4:38 always moves me so much. The images show you a powerful, fearsome, black armored Sith Lord unleashing his power... but the music is quiet, sweet and incredibly sad, almost as if it’s trying to comfort the broken and desperate boy who’s hiding behind the dark mask.

The Prequels have more depth then you may think. I read a great book about them (including this romance). It's called "The Star Wars Heresies: Interpreting the Themes, Symbols and Philosophies of Episodes I, II and III". THIS is the sort of deep analysis, that very few movies get, now that every shmuck with a camera reviews on youtube. Not that all youtube reviewers are bad - far from it - but I'm talking about all this "critics" that upload these generic 5 minutes Reviews. I really don't want to give to many Things away, but... First, The Star Wars Heresies focuses only on the Prequels. Mentions are made to the Original Trilogy, Clone Wars, and Expended Universe - particularly James Lucenos Darth Plagueis novel - but only to the extent they illustrate a particular point. Given that the Prequels are regarded by some as the black sheep in the Star Wars family, it's easy for authors to zero in on the Original Trilogy, especially the ever-quotable Yoda. Fortunately, by excluding its more popular cousin, McDonald is able to engage in a much closer analysis of the Prequel story. Second, many other works only point out parallels to Joseph Campbell's "hero's journey" or Buddhism, but McDonald goes beyond those sources. He draws upon impressive range of real-world mythological and religious traditions, including obscure Chinese legends and linguistic translations of the names of key characters (it turns out Qui-Gon Jinn's name foreshadows his role at the end of Revenge of the Sith). The Star Wars Heresies can't be categorized quite so cleanly as about philosophy, religion, mythology, or politics because it draws upon all of these fields. This book is definitely a must-read for fans of the Prequels. McDonald engages in a "close reading" of the films to find parallels between mythological patterns and the Prequels. However, this isn't like a high school English class that analyzes a book to death and takes all of the fun out of it. McDonald uses his analysis in order to allow readers to gain a deeper appreciation for the Prequels and where they fit within the broader scheme of human mythology. There are many subtle moments in the movies that fans might overlook but are actually imbued with deep significance. While the naysayers whine about the prequels showing the heroes as flawed and the government even more so, McDonald exposes the cracked superstructure of the galaxy-wide Republic as well as the Chosen One, then reveals how the surrounding forces and events caused both to fall. With comparative examples quoted from classic works on mythology, Buddhism, Taoism, and ancient pantheons, he shows how the characters' stubborn refusal to learn lessons and accept change leads to dire consequences for all. This applies to everyone from Anakin to the Jedi Council to the Galactic Senate. If you are on the fence about the seemingly sudden conversion of Anakin to the Dark Side and the Republic into the Empire, this book clearly details how such a rapid shift was not only possible, but inevitable. McDonald tackles all of the prequels' most controversial subjects, from Anakin and Padme's romance-which might at times seem stilted compared to the sort of screen romances we are used to but which, as he demonstrates, is extremely representative of the classic courtly romance tradition from which it derives-to Jar Jar Binks, whose-to many-irritating qualities are in keeping with the mythological role of the Fool and/or Trickster, to-perhaps best of all-the midichlorians, which he believes are likely the most misunderstood aspect of the entire saga. What makes his midichlorian defense so blazingly brilliant is how he proves that all of the evidence is right there in the film itself, if one pays close attention to the script's exact wording. The book is separated into three parts, one per film. Each part contains chapters that examine a character or a circumstance within an archetypal framework, i.e. "The Master," "The Queen," "The Mother," etc.

Darth Vader was born when the Emperor told him he killed Padme. He could no longer feel love for anyone, he was cold hearted and merciless. But once he found out he had a son the good in him started to creep back in, Luke was the only thing left of the woman he loved. And when the emperor was killing him Anakin finally returned to save him and Padme's son
