I think there are two main reason some people disliked episode 2: - if you only watch 2 without immediately watching 3 feels like a movie that goes nowhere. In fact, every part of 2 sets up something in 3. If you watch Episode 2 and 3 as a single movie, no part of it is messy. - people don't like the deliberately immature sounding voice Hayden uses to play Anakin. This is only a problem with the original English version, many fan around the world initially saw a dubbed version in which Anakin sounds fine. I first saw the Italian version Episode 2 in which Anakin sounds fine and nobody thought there was anything wrong with "I don't like sand". I would like to say to all prequel haters, just watch 2 and 3 together as if they were a single movie, and watch them in a foreign dub with subtitles, maybe the Japanese one, pretend it's an anime. You'll find out that those movies are way better than you remember.

The ultimate battle between two brothers, two warriors who were eachothers only family, a tale of two who chose different paths. Everything they had built up destroyed during this duel. The trust, the bond they had. All gone. The emotion, the sadness, the guilt, the betrayal. Everything leading up to this moment. This is my favorite star wars movie. How can people say this fight has no emotional weight? The whole movie sets up the conflict of Anakin and his beliefs. Throughout the movie, Anakin is constantly trying to obey the jedi code , while he watches the jedi counsel disregard THEIR own rules and standards by not even acknowledging anything having to due with the dark side. And by having Anakin spy on the chancellor and refusing to give him a fair trial. Anakin saw the counsel as ignorant hypocrites. (which they kind of were. Especially Mace Windu). And when he is confronted by Obi-wan, a teacher he felt didn't acknowledge him, all these feelings came to a boil. And even Obi-wan was kind of a hypocrite. He said that "only a sith deals in absolutes." When that statement itself is an absolute. He was just as blind as the others, and it all clashes together in this fight. I may just be overthinking this, but still... This is one of the most emotional and entertaining fights I've ever seen. Not trying to diminish other fights or say that the prequels are better than the originals. Just giving my take on my favorite scene from my favorite Star Wars movie. Thanks for reading this big ass comment!

Hans Zimmer is more for me because i was first introduced to his music through Crysis 2 and MW2. Sure, Battle of the Heroes is a good song, and John Williams is by no means a bad composer or musician. Yes, John Williams did amazing work with his Music on Star Wars and its subsequent movies and games such as Republic Commando (We need a sequel to that game btw) and the Jedi Knight series, but i feel like his music is overused in Star Wars, with the exception of a few songs such as Vode An (which was composed by someone else but still.. it feels as if John Williams made it). That's not to say it's not good, in fact they're masterpieces. However i believe Hans Zimmer is more of my type of composer. Just take one good listen to some examples such as "Chain of Command" from Modern Warfare 2 which is a more hyped up version of the Main theme of MW2, and the Epilogue song from Crysis 2. Those speak to me, at the very least. TLDR: I Prefer Hans Zimmer more and that is just my opinion.

I remember as a kid growing up in the early 90's, I had this Star Wars book that went over all the technical equipment of the Empire: Star Destroyer Bridge Layout, Tie Fighters, Turbo Lasers and a bunch of other Imperial Tech. One of the entries was about Vader's Chest Plate and I'll never forget those words on the the page about it: Vader, as Anakin Skywalker, lost a duel against Obi-Wan and was left for dead. This piece reminds me of a time when creators truly cared about the film they were making, and respected the source material. Rather than just to get a cheap laugh or explosion. This was a time when filmmakers tried to get you emotional. Like the sequels or not, George Lucas truly cared about the characters and story he and his peers created.

Bro, cheap laughs or explosions have existed long before today. Independence Day comes to mind. The Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser made a horror classic into a pulp action adventure trilogy in the Indiana Jones mold. People who have been into Star Wars for a long time and has read EU stuff know that this really is one of the most tragic scenes in cinema. Obi-Wan, the perfect jedi has failed his task given to him by Qui-Gon to raise the chosen one to fulfill the prophecy. He was the man chosen by the force itself to raise and mentor the one to bring balance to the force. He did it without question, and unconditionally loved Anakin with all his heart. He trained him into one of the finest Jedi the order had even seen, but it wasn't enough. Anakin, the boy conceived by the force itself to combat the growing influence of the Dark Side. He starts his life as a slave, working for his master Watto. While Watto wasn't awful to him, the scars of slavery stayed with him for life. Despite being taken in by the Jedi and having Obi-Wan as his master and brother, he was still that little boy with a slave chip living on Tattoine. No matter what he did and no matter how hard he trained, he was always a slave to his emotions. He was afraid. Afraid of losing those he loved, like he did his mother. And it destroyed him. You can feel both Anakins raging anger and Obi-Wans immense sadness. You can feel their fully steeled resolve to do what they think is right, despite the love they hold for each other. Anakin is fighting for what he thinks is right to save padme, and Obi-Wan is fighting for his faith in the Jedi and duty to Republic. There is no hesitation between them, each connection of their lightsabers is an attempt to kill. As Obi-Wan looks down at Anakin as he begins to catch fire, the sorrow is gut wrenching. Anakin has failed to save Padme, and Obi-Wan has failed his promise to his master. And they both lost a brother. The Republic has fallen, and the Jedi are dead and scattered. While listening to this piece I can close my eyes and I still see this scene as vivid as the day I first saw it and it makes me want to bawl my eyes out. John Williams is truly one of the best in history.

*Anakin brought "balance" by becoming the Sith Lord's apprentice and eventually killing him years later and then immediately dying.... all in episode 6.* The Force had it planned out different than what human's expected.

@muigokublack648711 ай бұрын
@@marksmangalactic9050 He's adding because he's right. Anakin fulfilled the prophesy just not in the way the Jedi thought. Because by killing Palpatine and himself later dying, that left Luke and bringing balance to The Force as George has always said balance was the absence of the dark side. Fitting that a man who had walked in both the light and the dark would ultimately bring about balance. The order fell because they lost their way and instead of following the will of The Force they followed the will of the senate. A mistake Luke in the EU corrected.
