Secondly, in the novelization, it’s literally said that Vader is trying to defeat Luke for multiple reasons, one being to stop him from killing the Emperor, one to spite Palpatine, one to teach him a lesson, where he literally said something like “he’s gonna learn his lesson or die trying” It was literally said multiple times that Vader simply couldn’t keep up with Luke’s speed, and dueling prowess and that unlike their duel in Cloud City, here they were “equals”. After Vader threatened to convert Leia, Luke literally got an insane ramp amp, overpowered and low diffed Vader.

Mid diff for Luke against episode 3 Anakin is harsh High extreme difficulty is accurate. Anakin is a taller bigger opponent than Luke and he’s more agile and swift than Vader… Plus Anakin had trained longer despite Luke matching Anakin’s force power- Anakin trained longer with it. So it would be tough for Luke but Anakin’s arrogance would get the best of him and Luke would win
