I'm 67 years old and I can tell you that you don't know what real pain is like until you have an anal fissure. I had surgery in 1991 and when that failed had another surgery in 1992 that was successful. It was a year before I got a doctor who was able to help me. Doctor's are awesome.

Suffering right now like mad guys. I know your pain. How you guys are dealing with it . Cicatridina twice at day and rectogesic. My problem is that I never was constipated. I was doing gym and having a diet with lots of fruit and vegetables. Going to the toilet doesn't give me any pain. Its the afterwards that kills me. A sharp pain and burning up to 10 hours. Also the muscles around-the- area tend to become so tense the pain is gets so bad. So the cream relaxes the muscles and the supportery should work on the cut. 7 days gone, 3 times went to the toilet. I love food and started to refusing it as the pain gets excruciating. Surviving on soup at lunch and a slice of bread at dinner. Sometimes I skip it. Especially now with the covid its impossible to stand in line at the supermarket.

Why do fissures cause skin tags?????
@vp1247
@vp1247 2 жыл бұрын
Beacuse once u have acute fissure your body tries to heal it ,so in subsequent attacks your body continues to heal by building up the damaged part. So the extra mass looks like a skin tag / sentinel tag.

The difference between hemorroids and anal fissure is that you get also pain afew minutes after defecation, and that pain is high sensation of burn/nervous shocks at same time for a few hours sometimes. That is a huge difference.

Fissurectomy is best compared to LIS and VY advancement flap. Fissurectomy pain is tolerable but loosing the holding power due to LIS can lead to damage to quality of life and person fails to go to outings due to fear and shame of incontinence or urgency. Kindly promote fissurectomy. I have done and its the best surgery and my spasm is gone.

A doctor from NY Columbia University cauterizes fissures and has like a 90% healing rate. I read a paper where they did research and found pathology in many of the fissure in terms of an underlyng infection- so a doctor from india perscribed antibotics for 3 months topically put on along with cream and he had a 90% success rate. Why aren't more places advocating for those methods before cutting???!

Hello Doc, that explanation was explicit, thank you very much. I noticed a pump near my anal and it's not painful, and no blood. In fact I hardly notice it only when I wipe or take my bath. I showed it to my Nurse Friend and she said it is snap fissure, and that it will go away on its own. Please what do I do, am worried.

He mentioned in the video that when it becomes chronic it’s less painful. FALSE! I’ve had mine since I was 16, I’m 38 now. It has become more painful in the last 5 years than at the beginning when I was just bleeding. Another thing he mentioned that it would just be blood on the tissue, also not necessarily true. Mine bled so bad that there would be a running stream of blood when I had a BM if I had to push a little, with no pushing it would be a drip drip drip...so much so the toilet bowl was a deep dark red of blood. So sure maybe for most people it’s a touch of blood and some slight discomfort but for me the sun rises and sets on me paying attention to my ruined anus. I went to a CRS he gave me cream! Cream! After me telling him that I’ve had it for years and years. He suggested I change my diet. I did. The damn thing would kind of heal but then split every time I had my period due to cramps/diarrhea. I still have it and it brings tears and panic. I’ve broken bones and dislocated my elbow that felt less painful than this. Chronic fissures being less painful my ass....do more research.

Are anal fissures always extremely painful? I noticed a little blood on my stool a few weeks ago, and a couple days ago I noticed it again. It was a little more this time. I have problems with constipation because I've done opiates off and on for quite a few years. Just being honest. However, it's never caused a major problem before. It burned for a little while after defecating, and I read that's a symptom of an anal fissure...I went today and it burned afterward again, but there wasn't pain during defecation, and there was no blood this time. Could I possibly have a fissure or should I be worried about something more serious?

Sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing. Chronic fissures can be very difficult to treat at time. Unfortunatley, I am unable to provide medical recommendations over the internet. I would recommend you get a second opinion from a local physician in your area. Most surgeries to treat fissures are considered low risk.

Thanks.I had been diagnosed with anal fissure 2.5 months back and was suggested surgery.I ignored and tried conservative healing.Thereafter,I had ischiorectal abcess and it was operated by incision and drainage.I asked the surgeon about my condition of Anal fissure and the interrelationship in between fissure and abcess.He told,they aren't related and fissure is almost healed.But now,again after 2.5 months,fissure is hurting a lot.I have been devastated by these painful episodes.Doctor told,it may heal by own and surgery is not warranted,but its not healing and hurting tremendously.Kindly provide a solution,Sir!!😄😦😥😥😥

Anal fissures and perianal abscess can be related. The continuous irritation and trauma caused by the fissure can create an environment that promotes bacterial growth and infection, leading to the formation of an abscess. As well as both conditions share same risk factors such as constipation, chronic diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease), and certain sexual practices. And it is important to check whether you have Perianal fistula. Fistula formed due to chronic abscess, Crohn's disease, chlamydia, radiation, Foreign body (like in case of trauma).

I think Drs go wrong while diagnosing anal fissures so please add this in your next video. External anal fissures on anal verge can be diagnosed by visual inspection. Internal anal fissures on anterior side, posterior side or within any part of the inner circumference of the anal sphincter muscle can be diagnosed with Chelsea Eaton anal speculum (slit proctoscope) , Smith anal retractor, or by Digital rectal examination with finger inside the anal sphincter muscle. But sometimes narrow fissures are not felt due to glove and are undiagnosed. Note that colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy or normal proctoscopy is for diagnosing internal hemorrhoids and other internal rectal diseases and not for diagnosing anal fissures

I want to share how I got rid of my fissures. I done so much research on this and after trying many different methods this is what helped me to be pain free. Go online and buy a 3oz ear bulb syringe for you will need this for cleaning the fissures. Go to the supermarket and buy a tube of Tenactin yes that's right the foot cream. When you feel a bowel movement fill a large cup with water and fill your bulb and give yourself an enema, it will sting like crazy the first few times you do this but you have to clean yourself out and also clean any crap that's in the fissure. No open wound will heal if there's poop in it. Once you're done take some Tenactin on your finger and put it in your canal where your fissure is and in about a week they will heal to where they won't be painful anymore. I remember crying at night knowing I'm fixing to have a bowel movement and the pain that I was going to experience because I know once I poop the lingering pain will be there for many hours and as you know you can't sit or lie down so I end up pacing around until the pain goes away enough to go to sleep. Once they are healed if you have a bowel movement that opens the fissures up then get your Tenactin and it will be healed by the next day, no joke, this is how I did it. I started doing this back in 2007 and I'm still doing it today, I believe this is a good practice to do because it gets that poop out of you and it don't sit there for hours or days which makes a healthier you. I haven't been sick since I started this, you are always clean inside which I believe makes a difference. Hope this helps you for I for one know how painful fissures are. Since it only takes a few minutes every time I go to the bathroom it has shrunk my hemorrhoids to where they no longer bother me so it's good for hemorrhoids too.

What is skin tag?! And what is cronns?
@thestudyspot
@thestudyspot 7 жыл бұрын
Skin tag is a tiny outpouching of the skin that is connected to the underlying skin. Crohn's is a autoimmune disease of the GIT system. I know these are very brief descriptions, I will make videos on them soon.

That was stupid. 80% success rate vs. what? What is the rate of incontinence? Having math problems in high school, are we? Where is the complete information?
@thestudyspot
@thestudyspot 8 жыл бұрын
Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy has up to a 100% success rate. Patients who have undergone lateral internal sphincterotomy experience an overall anal incontinence rate of 14% at 2 years. Flatus incontinence 9% and soilage/seepage incontinence was 6%. I don't ever remember receiving less than an A in math during my high school years. I was briefly a math teacher and I was able to pay my whole through medical school simply by tutoring math. So, overall I think my math is pretty solid. By no means is this complete information. There are many different types of procedures, opinions, controversies and studies which I didn't mention. I am merely presenting the information that I feel is important for the USMLE exam. But if there is any other specific information that you would like to know I can try and see if I can find it for you.

Lills Jul For the purposes of the USMLE this is more than enough so I am not planning on making another video. I recommend going through Bailey and Love or UpToDate for a more thorough discussion. But again if you have a specific question I can try and answer it for you.

After having one unsuccessful LIS, I had to have another. After that one, I got anal stenosis. My doctor did not tell me that could happen. Even though I don't have to work anymore because I won the lawsuit against her for not telling me about it, I would rather have had the 100% success rate that was promised.

j. cardoso I feel great! It was totally worth the hassle and pain of the after surgery. I only felt at 100% 6/7 weeks after... I’d say it depends on how you were before surgery, as maybe they needed to do something extra (like sphincteroctomy), which at the end in my case wasn’t needed. I’m sure you’ll feel better soon. After 6 weeks I was so sad that I still didn’t feel like a normal person and then suddenly I’m a couple of days I felt perfect!
