A lot of speculation DM or not… It’s not! It was first recorded by Dr Strangelove around 1990 and re-recorded by certain members of the group under name of ANALOG ANGEL. I wrote the lyrics and the music was written and played by John Sim, Robert Marshall and Paul Marshall and iirc recorded at the Human League studio in Sheffield

this song was released first time in the 80's. but i would like to hear the new version '09. And that is so true..this guy sounds more like dave than dave himself. Personally i miss the voice of dave from the 87-93 period. It was more deep and had that gothic and kind of scary sound. Nowdays his voice is too kind and tender for my ear. But still the best voice in the world. No question for that. :)

I am almost sure it is not In Chains, for the following reasons: 1- If you listen to the video snippet from the studio recording of In Chains, it sounds so different 2- It doesn't sound like Gahan's current voice, but rather his construction time again or even before 3- Although this song is good, I don't think it's a good starting track for an album whatsoever.. especially with such a beginning It's a good song anyway

La verdad es que es un poco asustador. La canción realmente esta buena, lograron "robarle el alma " a depeche mode. Para los que dicen que "depeche es mejor", seguramente es cierto, PERO ES NO ES EVIDENTE EN ESTA CANCION. and still i have to say that in this song is the one thing that lacks from depeche-songs today...beautiful synthmelody!! My view is that after Ultra there hasn't been too much beautiful melodies in depeche songs. Synthlines like in Strangelove,Higher Love, Enjoy The Silence, Sister of Night..i haven't heard since. Precious/PTA was an exception. But was that just a peak in the evening of their career??i hope not. but still i think SOTU was lame and quite dull record. can't wait daves next solo.:P
