I owned an XG-M in the early eighties, sold it several years ago, but I just bought another one. I'm so glad I have my XG-M back! When new, it was a very advanced camera, and most cameras of that era were built to last decades. I also have owned a CLE for a couple years. I was only a little surprised to see the touch shutter, the viewfinder LED and the film transport mechanism to be identical to the XG-M's. (The LED is on the opposite side in the viewfinder.) Never have liked loading film in the XG-M, but after shooting a roll in my new-old one, I'm in love with it all over again. The split image plus matte focusing ring work beautifully and so much easier than manual focusing the CLE or even modern digital cameras. Thanks for featuring the XG-M.

after you put the film in you need to advance the film to the #1 frame meaning shoot a few times till its on frame one., cloudy days i'd shoot it at 500. you can look inside at the light meter it will tell you what to set it at.

Just shoot aperture priority .. the meter is pretty good in the XG-M

but on aperture priority, it doesn't fire if it thinks that shutter speed needs to be above 1/1000. hence the reason i still shoot on manual. but i'm content with the XGM. it's a fine camera. :)

How much euro's was it? Nice camera. I bought one wit 3 lenses voor 120. Brand new camera and lenses. Inclusief 4 rols Kodak

Less than 50€ for a box that consisted of XGM with 50mm 1.7 and XG9 with 28mm 2.8. But this was about 20 years ago. Lol

When you press and hold down the battery check button, is the light suppose to stay on or does it just flash once? Because mine only flashes once when i hold down the battery check button

Mine stays on as I hold down the battery check button
