Many thanks for confirming that the project is still alive. I so much want to buy a kit of this analyzer. I'm looking forward to hear news about the development. Many thanks. Martin Meek Norway

Great! I can't wait to be able to put ny hands in this wonderful project!! Amazing job!

I was checking your site and It is down for a few days now. A question, I saw the minimum value you used for your shunts resistors was 34 ohm, what are the other shunt resitors values you used? Any plans in releasing shcematics or pcb/board anytime soon ?

are these PCBs of impedance analyzer available for sale?
@TheStuffMade5 жыл бұрын
Hi nitin ingle, it was originally my intention to make a kit available, but unfortunately I never found the time to make it happen. However if you look at the latest video for the impedance analyzer you will find a download link containing all the info you need to make a PCB including the gerbers.

Just published a video on this using Waveforms 3.6.8 Analog Discover 2 Impedance Analyzer, OPTs and What Plates Really See kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoXKl5ase9qAl5o Not as fancy as the TheStuffMade but still very useful.

This is excellent work, well done! have you released your board files? www.thestuffmade.com/ImpedanceAnalyzer/PluginBoard doesn't mention the file locations.

Thanks Craig, project is still alive, but I wanted to make a few small changes, it's just taking a long time because I've been quite busy with other things and this is just one hobby project among many.

I totally understand your comment. Thanks for the update. I read one of your eevblog posts about "Agilent Impedance Measurement Handbook", so I read that last evening. it is a great doc. I hope you find the time to post your work somewhere, both HW/SW. For 20 years, I've wanted an impedance analyzer since graduate school when my bench had an HP4192A, which was ooh so nice. Have a great weekend and don't work too hard!

Thanks, I share your desire for an impedance analyzer and it was what started the long journey of this project, like, hey, how hard can it be to just make my own. Well, the truth is that it's not as simple as I first thought, but also it's not impossible. Surely I cannot claim reference level accuracy, but compared to a high end instrument like the Hioki $10k+ impedance analyzer I'm surprised how close the results really are. It's pretty much within experimental;y acceptable limits for the comparisons I've made.

From the videos I've seen, I think that your board currently is completely acceptable for hobby/diy work, even if error is up to 5%. I think most people will drop $100 for a board without thinking ($20 for blank boards). They're using LCR meters at a single frequency, this is a new world for them. Its so powerful to show the impedance plots that people really get that nothing is ideal and parasitics are real. I'd like to develop a python lib for impedance calculation based on your code. No need duplicate your work here. Are you willing to share that (giving you full credit of course)? My AD2 should arrive in a couple days. Good luck with your project. I'll check back every once in a while to see how you're doing and if bare/populated boards are available.
