ANALOG SYNTH JAM #4 | MINIMAL SET WITH THE BEHRINGER NEUTRON

Hi guys,
I wanted to challenge myself with this song and use 1 piece of gear to make a soundtrack using one of my favorite pieces of equipment, the neutron. This synth is considered affordable but is still a powerhouse.

I recommend the Neutron to everyone wanting an affordable analog synth. All you need to play it is any cheap keyboard with MIDI out. Easy to use for beginners but so much flexibility to create complex sounds and even generative music using the patch bay.

Very nice work! I like that it is melodic and soft. Most people do demos of really harsh sounds or overly modulated non-musical sounds with this thing. This I can listen to.

finally some1 doing melodic rhythm stuff not harsh noises.. like my old arp odyssey u av 2 av both oscillators kinda workin 2getha 2 get more pad or nice sounds dont think most videos on here really know how 2 use modular style synths ..best neutron vid kinda krautrock style

dou you think you would share the starting patch and the buttons you moved during the performance ?

As much as I would love to, unfortunately, it has been broken for the past 3 or so months, I was planning to do an in-depth video of how I did my setup but until I can afford to fix it/ buy a new one I am on a standstill. As for the starting patch and sound, it is pretty basic, I believe it was a since+saw at different octaves with a bit of delay and a big focus on decay and release. In the clip, I am adjusting the filter freq, res, then the release, att, and decay of the oscillators. On top of that, I am using the built-in delay very lightly then having live post-processing through Ableton with Raum Reverb and light eqing to cut out noise and rumble. The beauty comes from the arp function within Ableton sending midi to the neutron and slowly adjusting the parameters there to keep it sounding interesting. I am aware that doesn't make it 100% analog, but for those of us on a tight budget, it is a nice compromise.

@@Phantasma999 Hi Felipe. I forgot to post an update regarding this issue. For that I apologize. I can not pin down what the specific issue was but it could have been the cable I was using or updates it needed. If you have a neutron then I highly advise you to run any firmware updates via usb and check to make sure it is getting enough power from the PSU. I will post an update for this on my announcements. If you have any issues let me know and I would be more than happy to assist you. We are family here.

What effects? And are you layering multiple tracks or is this just one neutron track plus effects?

This is a neutron with built-in delay and being run through Ableton to apply a vast reverb, also being played with a patch that I made inside of Ableton to send to neutron via midi to sound like it is playing more notes than it is. I am thinking of doing a video breakdown of everything in the future. Do you think that would be beneficial for you?
