see, it's a weighted system. Since it's a binary number it's base or redix will be 2, Okay? Now from the rightmost digit multiply 2^n to the rightmost digit which would be 1. So we get 1x2^n. Here, n signifies the position. The rightmost digit will have the position of 0 and the next one to it will have position of 1 and so on. Now, after you've done it add all of them together. which makes it 1x2^0 + 1x2^1 + 1x2^2 + 1x2^3 = 15 Hope this helps :)
