Love the early Roland Synth this and JP4, oscillators fat and consistency even in their tone as you play up and down the keys-along with supreme filters. Doesn't sound cheap or plastic like many other synths. What a beast of engineering.

I want to see the market in vintage synths go into a savage freefall. People are paying megabucks for 40 and 45 year old technology. It can be recreated on newer, better machines for a fraction of the asking price if you want those retro sounds.
@AnalogAudio1 Жыл бұрын
Always the same discussions... the original analogs sound better than "recreations" by software or newer synths. These are the originals. Apart from that, you don't need to spend megabucks for a vintage car to drive, you don't need to pay megabucks for a Rolex to know the time. There will be no "savage freefall", since it's not the same.
@thepanel2935 Жыл бұрын
@@AnalogAudio1 even Nick Rhodes said he is "all for moving forward", so I think this obsession with vintage Retro sounds will stifle advancement and 'new-ness'. And where are the spare parts for old machines that require repairs due to their age? Or MIDI connectivity? I already know that people appreciate these older products, but I will not participate. I was offered an original two-keyboard Prophet-10 for $2500 Australian ($1500 USD) and I sold my Jupiter 4 for $450 Australian ($300 USD), but this was all back in the mid 1990s when I was in my 20s and flat broke. (I couldn't afford the $2500 for the Prophet-10 and I desperately needed the money I got when selling the JP-4.) I would still choose to use a Rev 4 re-issue of the Prophet-10 than pay large sums for the original, despite what you say. Each to their own. If Behringer products are solidly made and cheaply sold, they will assist greatly, especially with re-makes of classic pieces of kit like the Linn Drum and DMX drum machine. The only problem is, Behringer will announce a budget re-make of classic items, but three years later, there is _still_ no sign of those things...

@nakedfaves8 жыл бұрын
+AnalogAudio1 Yeah, but if I had the money I'd buy one just for the looks. Imagine seeing someone play one of these in a concert where the venue is small enough that members of the audience can come on stage and get a photo of one with them standing right next to it. But then it's also the ease with which numerous sounds can be produced with less than 5 seconds on programming and knob manipulation. Man, I'd eat this up if I could afford to buy one.
