This is very useful. It's so easy to get lost with all the possibilities that comes with a desk full of amazing toys. As soon as I come up with something I like, I get carried away and start improvising and adding new elements and in the end it is impossible to find my way back. Assignment to myself: create five one-box grooves by this principle. Know them, name them, save them. Great groove by the way!

Once you have those, you'll see how this now starts to become a powerful set list. And the iffy stuff sorts itself out when you do a performance (either to friend, in a club or just at home. Great travels brother! Let me know what works out?

Yes, very good. I have also an OT Mk2 and in the context of a HW Setup with different Synth its a good idea using the OT only for the drums.

I love you DAWless Videos. Really. You make an really great Job with this Channel. My workflow is also dawless, but i have everything connected via an audiointerface to the MPC. It works really great. I also have some crashes, but only when I reconnect various USB devices does the MPC like to hang up. but otherwise in the studio and live I have no problems with it.

I finally got the OT so thanks again. Imagine myself with a Model Samples in A B and C D with rev2 or rather 2 monos. This OT is amazing. Anyway love you again and waiting for next week

My choice of groove box is Digitakt. I have all kinds of hardware but everything had boiled down to this one device. I'm really drawn to idea that I have live sets composed on one portable device which I just bring to the event plug in and play my set. Setup takes few minutes max and after my set I can continue my evening with friends everything conveniently stowed in one rather small backpack.

I try… G knows I’ve tried. Still can’t get it done. But I do utilize everything as it’s all part of a bigger idea. Still though, it was liberating to work with just one taks to a box 📦

Those drums sound tuned to be most effective with a root of the note A? (So basically any mode or chords that sit well with or add transients to A in a tempermental tuning form (440hz, slightly higher than perfect math, slightly higher, etc)? My bad. I never learned how to tune a piano. Is that maybe correct?
@AnalogKitchen
@AnalogKitchen Жыл бұрын
Well Ideally, the only thing that needs to be tuned is that 808 tom. Elements of other things can be tuned but the most important thing is that tom

@@AnalogKitchen Yeah, the kick is usually more about frequency range and the "color" or timbre of the sound. Snares and cymbals seem to be similar, yet I think tuning snare-like sounds and using the correct cymbals (or modifying them somehow) is often important. I sometimes wish I had pursued a more formal education regarding music theory. The old joke holds true though: "How do you get a guitarist to shut up? Hand them a piece of sheet music" lol

@@AnalogKitchen I knew a formally jazz trained drummer back in the day, and he was obsessed with tuning his snare and tom drums almost perfectly. If we had been more serious as a music act, he probably would have tuned slightly different for some songs, atleast for studio work.

I’m on the fence between the two and can only afford one. Curious why you’re leaning towards octatrack instead of MPC?

@@Mattex-Musicstability. The octatrack is a tank. It is solid as a rock. The MPC isn't.

My Octatrack died yesterday. Blank screen no sound and organs leds. Hope it can be fixed, or i’ll get a new black car one. Meanwhile enjoying the Rytm and Digitone combo

@@AnalogKitchen was using it as a performance mixer, now I just use the audio in of the Rytm. I am afraid of more gear braking though. I used to have an MPC live as well, until the pads kept triggering by them selfs even with setting the threshold higher. Luckily both under warranty 😀
