Hi Noah, My best results using UltraMax 400 were taking autumn colors last fall. Trees with orange leaves shot at box speed gave me wonderful results.
@Exxcalibur1864 жыл бұрын
I really love Ultramax for fall afternoons, the colors do really well with the foliage without being too saturated.

I personally use ultra Max, when I’m testing out a new camera or one I just repaired. It’s a great cheap film that help to identify any issues with light leaks. That what I personally use it for. And when I just feeling like having fun and messing around with my settings and trying new ideas, it’s a great film for that too. Thank you for a great video, I appreciate all your other videos too!!! It’s extremely helpful!!!!

Polavision might be a kinda fun video topic! It was this weird experiment in the late 1970s where Polaroid tried to combine Super 8 with instant photography, so you could have “instant” home movies... didn’t take off at all, but still a pretty cool engineering feat

Great channel for anyone into analogue photography. Here's a list of films I want to see a review in the near future: Fuji Velvia 50,100 Fuji Provia 100f Fuji C200 Kodak Proimage 100 Kodak Ektar 100 Cinestill 800T Lomo 800 Shangai GP3 100 Ilford FP4 Plus 125 And make a video on Color Motion Picture Films as well. Looking forward to it !!!!

It’s my favorite film and I use it 90% of the time in my Leica IIIf. I like the color, tolerance for warm weather, and price. Additionally in Lightroom for many of my pictures, I’ll click on black-and-white to see if I like it better. When blach and white looks better than color, Ultramax comes through too. So if I get it she only wants film for black-and-white and color, it would be Ultramzx

Kodak Ultramax 400 was the film that I shot the most when I was a kid-teenager. I think it’s a good film to start shooting film photography. Nice color balance and it could be considered a fast film so it helps you avoid motion blur/shake

Huh, whenever i've shot Ultramax 400, i think in many shots it tends to lean to a very blue-ish green colour, and having the reds really strong. Not sure about that, i learned a lot from this!

UltraMax 400 was the first film a shot with and to this point I’m yet to find anything that makes me as all round satisfied when considering price/colour/grain etc. is it the best film there is? No. But at AUD$20 for a three pack it’s really hard to beat.

Although more easily available (sold at my local pharmacy), I prefer Kodak Gold over Ultramax, Kodak Gold gives more saturarated colours which I prefer for landscape photography and the skin tones look more real with Gold
@fishymm59054 жыл бұрын
I only shoot Gold and Ultramax and I find the look of Gold 200 pushed to 800 to be one of my favorite film looks ever, colors seem stronger and they seem to have a larger range of contrast. Ultramax is really good too, I use it mostly for 1600ASA nights and it looks really good in my opinion. I shoot Fuji's Superia line sometimes but the green cast on shadows and dark shots bother the hell out of me so I tend to use it for bright sunny days only.

Shot one of my favorite pictures on UltraMax but my true favorite film is Ektar 100. When I need a 400 speed film I normally use Portra 400 or Lomography 400. My wife gets the cheap stuff, Ultramax and Color Plus. I would like to see a review for Kodak Pro Image 100 or the new Ilford film Ortho. If your in the states and looking for cheap high quality developing, there is a guy on ebay who does all my film. Thanks again for your film reviws -Andrew

Thanks! In my fridge (1/2 food, 1/2 film!) I have some unshot (but not expired) UltraMax 400 which needs some attention and love! Your scan quality is excellent -- very good detail when zoomed in -- seeing the grain and not the pixels of the scan/scanner! For your night shots did you use the meter of your camera (AE-1, right?) or did you guesstimate the exposure settings? Yes -- has that "classic" Kodak home snapshot look -- which is not bad. It adds a character than "crispy" digital photos lack. I find that shadows in Superia 400 definitely pull out the dark green, where most Kodak films at least render the colors about right in the shadows, if a bit muddy and grainy.
