What does your Top 10 Cobra Vehicles list look like?

In no particular order, Rattler, Night Raven, Thunder Machine, Water Moccasin, HISS Tank, Trouble Bubble (flight pod), Ferret, Moray, um... difficult to choose between the night landing raft, Serpentor's air chariot, or the Sears exclusive Crimson Guard Attack Tank (MOBAT) for the last two spots.

I'll narrow my list to the vehicles that I had as a kid. 10) ASP - Got this one second hand, a little beaten up, one of the wheels was broken, gave it great "weathered" look 9) Adder - It isn't the most exciting, but two giant assed missles was always fun for me. Ok, this was the first Cobra vehicle that would get "blown up" for most of my battle scenarios. 8) FANG - I'll never NOT have this one on the Top 10. It reminded me of the Little Nellie gyro copter from "You Only Live Twice" and it was a very unexpected gift from my mom. 7) Stun - I didn't have the OG HISS so this was my main fast Cobra attack vehicle. 6) Destro's Despoiler - I didn't have many Cobra only vehicles as a kid, so this Iron Grenadier hover chariot goes here. It's cool looking, has two missiles, and that rotation cannon. Plus, it comes with Peak Destro aka Iron Grenadier Destro. 5) Thunder Machine - It has a Cobra Sticker on it, so Thunder Machine goes here. It's a Mad Max vehicle, that kicks it above my previous Cobra, but not really, but I had it as a kid, Despoiler. 4) HISS II - This is a UNIT right here. Two drivers, 1 gunner, 4 troopers in the back compartment, and you could place two more troopers on the exterior rear rail. Such a great step up from the first HISS. I think my only drawback is the color scheme. I would have been KILLER with that classic royal blue or black with red accents. 3) Firebat - My trend of the best Cobra vehicles begins. 2) Rattler - You pretty much nailed why it is a top tier Cobra Vehicle. 1) Night Raven - It's look is unbeaten, and the Aero Viper has a classic pilot look

My parents were divorced. The year the Cobra Raven came out I asked them both for one. I ended up with two Cobra Ravens. It's still the one Christmas I can remember most because I was so excited about having a pair of these toys.

I think the STUN should have made the list, also an honourable mention for the hiss mk2, never had it as a child and have recently purchased one and quite impressed with the troop carrier compartment inside

My parents didn't buy me many vehicles, I think I finished with four overall, but I got the GI Joe Warthog and Cobra Bugg for the same Christmas one year. I would have been blown away by one of them, but getting both was so special. I had so much fun with them.

The Hiss 2 is a great upgrade to the original. It’s larger and can transport Cobra Infantry in the back.

The firebat was my favorite plane. I had pretty much all of the big Jets but ultimately they were the worst toys to play with since you always have to hold them in your hands to “make them fly” so the smaller ones were the best to play with imo.

I absolutely loved any vehicle that seemed to have other vehicles combined - they always felt better value. Something as simple as the little bike / sled on the Whale made it seem so much cooler - same with the extra jet on the top of the Night Raven (not that I ever got either). One modern Joe vehicle I thought was good was the Rhino - Helicopter and Tank / Troop Transport all in one!

I had the Fang gyrocopter, the Ferret ATV, the Firebat jet (mail-away version), Cobra Night Landing raft, and Cobra Bunker. They don’t make ‘em like they used to!

Great choices. I do miss my Cobra Condor. It had several fuselage/wing length decals that made it look pretty sharp. I still got my my Bugg, Hiss and Python Patrol Conquest fighter in storage somewhere. I love the Conquest's reverse-swooped wings and snake scale paintjob.

Great list. I didn't have many cobra vehicles but I did have the 1990 Hammerhead and it definitely worth looking into . As a kid it was super durable and tons of play value. As 90s joe was getting outlandish this was a grounded vehicle. It would definitely be in my top 10.

Thank you for putting this out! I remember commenting on your Best GI Joe vehicles wanting a Best Cobra vehicles vid, and this one does not disappoint! Totally agree on all choices, especially that #1 pick...which is my white whale. Trying to find a good one somewhere online that has all parts and not faded or overused. New would be nice, but they're rare and as I'm sure you've seen...VERY expensive. To me it's the equivalent of the Transformers Jetfire for the GI Joe/Cobra line of toys. Another possible honorary mention, the 1989 Cobra Python Patrol Conquest x30. Sure it's a retool of the Joe x30, but they sure did make the most of the changes to make it their own!

I remember getting the Ratler and my grandad,a former RAF engineer, saw me playing with it "Do you know what VTOL stands for?" He asked I didn't...but from somewhere deep in my brain I hazarded the answer- "Vertical...take off...and,um,landing?" The old man looked overjoyed!!😂

I had immense fun with my Cobra IMP-which fired rockets that broke up laying mines. I think at the time it was around $6 which like you said the smaller vehicles were in my mom's price range. The one I never got that I really wanted was the Rattler-out of my price range unless for Christmas or birthday. What I liked about Hasbro was the little things like engine/mechanical details and removable panels so you could do maintenance on your vehicle between battles. It really sparked my imagination. Fitting I drove an actual combat engineer vehicle that laid mines in the US Army.

I've always loved the Steel Crusher Van from Rise of Cobras toyline. It matches great with the HISS and Stinger. The Water Moccasin has always been my fave Cobra boat over the Hyrofoils. The ROC line also had a cool update of the Nightraven.

First of all Tony happy New Year. I love your channel. You bring me back down memory lane with a first class ticket. Beautiful childhood memories are resurrected. Obviously sometimes with sadness due to those who have lost parents etc who originally bought us these great toys and made Christmases,birthdays etc so special and magic. I have a couple of questions which I hope you or other G.I.Joe/ Action Force enthusiasts can help me with. Back in 1986 I got the Cobra "FANG" for Christmas. The box would be the Action Force blue,white red colour scheme. The Cobra logo on the box would be the green Cobra snake coiled around.. On the cover of the box the FANG has the red missiles and red nose cannon. I thought I was getting the FANG with the red colour weapons which I alluded to. However despite being in a box with the Cobra "FANG" on the cover the actual helicopter inside had the aforementioned missiles and nose cannon etc in yellow which was the SAS helicopter "Sparrowhawk"!. Did this happen to anyone else? Something similar happened on my birthday. I wanted the Cobra "Hyena" vehicle which would be brown colour scheme version and this was 1986. In Europe this vehicle was still called the "Hyena". When I opened my present I actually got the red "Hyena" from the "Baron Ironblood" days. However this red "Hyena" came with the Cobra "Hyena" driver! Again did anyone else have a similar experience. I am in Europe by the way. I personally preferred the European "Action Force" figures and toys than the GI Joe's. I collected the comic "Battle Action Force" too. I always preferred Cobra as a kid. Another Cobra vehicle I loved from my period would be the "ASP" which could be towed by the Night Attack Jeep which I also have. Looking back its tinged with sadness how your childhood comes to a quick end due to girls etc. I am serious. The Cobra "Wolf" was the last ever vehicle I got for Christmas. I had this vehicle fighting the GI Joe "Snowcat" and "Polar Bear". How childhood flies by so quickly. The year after I stopped playing with these toys I was into hard rock music and learning guitar and going to concerts with my older brother. I first got started collecting "Action Force" when as a promotion there was a free figure usually Captain Campbell of "Z Force" or Captain Buckingham of "SAS Force" that came with the comic. My older brother was an avid reader of "Battle" since the late 1970's.

Great Video Tony! This was worth the wait! The Cobra Night Raven is an excellent choice for the #1 spot on your list. On a side note: This toy was probably also inspired by a predecessor of the Lockheed SR-71 BLACKBIRD known as the A-12 which could carry an unmanned recon drone (the D-21) atop a the rear section of the fuselage. But leave it to the crazy snake brains at either MARS or Cobra R&D to make it into a literal crotch rocket!

I personally would not have included anything from 1987 onwards because 1986 was the last year I collected GI Joe toys. To that end my top 10 Cobra list would include in not particular order… the Rattler, the FANG, the HISS, the Stinger, the Water Moccasin, the Moray, the Night Raven, the Ferret, the ASP and the Stun with honorable mentions going to the Night Landing, the Hydro Sled and the CLAW.

I never knew how many play features the BUG had, that's a good design! The BUG also reminds me of baddie vehicle you would have seen in the 70's Roger Moore Bond era. I was lucky enough to have both the Rattler and Night Raven as a kid, and my only complaint about the Night Raven as a kid is that it was so long that I had to get creative for where I stored it. Also, that Aero Viper design is such a great look. It stands above my other two faves Wild Weasel and AVAC. I think the Aero Viper pushes the Night Raven just above the Rattler on my list. But it is so close. Like a 1A - 1B.

Never had G.I.Joe. we had action force in the UK. I had quite a bit. The dragonfly (iirc) Bell cobra chopper and still have my favourite moccasin. Modern toys have about 10% of the play factor of these toys.

I've never noticed that the Gyro Viper's leg has my home state of Indiana as a target with Indianapolis at the focal point. Makes sense as in the Cold War Indianapolis was a Russian nuke target for Allison Transmission, Eli Lilly, and other companies here.

Excellent list. For me Joe always had the better vehicles on the grand scheme of the entire toy line, but Cobra still manages to have some of the best vehicles ever made in the line, like the Moray and Night Raven

The Cobra Moray and Rattler were the ones I always wanted. Found a mostly complete one at a toy store (machine gun was broke and of course the spotlight was missing). Some plastic weld and a eBay seller fixed that. It's so gorgeous to look at with 25th Anniversary Eels and the Cobra Island Lamprey. I found a 25th Rattler kind of cheap, and it adorns the top of my shelf). I had a Night Raven (and I fully agree it's #1 spot). Always hated one of my "friends" broke it. I found out later "friend" did it on purpose because he was jealous. Dude had a freaking Flagg and I can't believe he was jealous over that. He had a Flagg, but nope he hated the fact I had a Night Raven and not him. So he broke it so neither of us could have one. Freaking bastard.

Cobra always had interesting design elements in its vehicle design. For me some of stuff reminds me of some soviet cold war era equipment. As youngling when this stuff was in retail I had to admit I was more focus on joe but older I got towards 10 something changed and I got more intrigued by cobra especially it’s specialist soldiers and maybe because of my owni interest in special forces. Anyway I never received the night ravan but my friend Nathan had one and being good friends when he out grew his toys as teenager he end up giving them to me as he knew I would appreciate them. Anyway I wouldn’t mind seeing a video on cobra specialist soldiers you Iike. Anyway thanks for the video and I enjoy it

Night Raven is great. I see it based on a Lockheed M-21. The Hydrofoil looks a lot like boats and drivers portrayed in Miami Vice S1, E9.

I would love to see Hasbro give us new version of the Hydrofoil and Nightraven through their G.I. Joe cooperative lines. The Hydrofoil was used as inspiration for Energon Mirage and Starscream as the Nightraven would a perfect node to the Devi's Due crossover comics.

The Night Raven was my first Cobra vehicle and figure. Christmas of 1986. Still have it and all my old GI Joe toys. They decorate our game room now. My Cobra vehicles as a boy: The Raven The Flight Pod The Night landing The Stun The Water Moccasin Wished I had also gotten: The Hydrofoil The Rattler The Hiss The Fang The Stinger or Maggot

I agree with most of your choices. But some serious issues. Small vehicles be Claw (I know not used much but the comic when StormShadow rescues CC > fang) and Ferret easily in the top 10. No to Stinger, while I know why they did it and looks badass. I hated when they swapped equipment from one team to the other. I just couldn’t see the factions doing that unless they had stolen a superior rare property to make it work for them. I would have probably had the Rattler, also not mentioned at #1. That was really the first real robust vehicle Hasbro went for in the cobra faction. It was also easily attainable. 😊

I thought the night Raven was the most aesthetically pleasing Cobra vehicle. Absolutely gorgeous. It’s one that must have but is lower in priorities. Rattler is just more useful. A Cobra army needs Rattlers, Night Ravens are a luxury.
