*The one issue with the Pokemon game when put into GBC mode is fixed when using the GBC Fix option I showed, I just didn't click on SAVE. the GB_ClrFix option is the right one to fix the sprites not showing correctly in the pokemon game but you didn't click the Save option before resetting 🙂

The sticker served as an insulating film for you to paste it on the metallic part behind the LCD screen to avoid shorting out anything. By the way the sticker with the phone number on it is to be pasted on the battery cover.

I put mine together last month. Same price. I chose a black case with clear green buttons. I wanted to hide the bottom of the screen that shows through on the clear cases. I really like it. It is cheaper than buying a used GBC, TFT screen, buttons etc… playing old original GBC Mario thru for first time. Cheers!

For me the price wasn't even the problem on the Analogue Pocket, it was the ridiculous shop that didn't have a simple wait list to just buy it and wait. I would buy one but I don't want it bad enough to sit around my computer and try and snipe it before the scalpers. The funny playing looked cool. I was putting the items in my cart the other day. Its really cool you can customize it all and pick your case/button color. Just wish there were a few more options.

You can get an update with the nintendo at the boot screen instead of the FPGBC from funnyplaying themselves. Makes it that much more authentic

They have a board. They just haven't gotten the FPGA for it yet. So, you have to migrate a CPU and RAM from an actual GBA for that board to work. I have no doubt that FunnyPlaying will get it to work, but I'm not seeing anything that would make me replace my Pocket.

the sticker is for the back and bottom of the screen, I think it not only insulates it but makes it look better. I had a small amount of light bleed on the top of the screen so I added a small piece of tape

Why? The ”new” GBAs from China are very good and not that expensive. I don't think FPGA would be better then original GBA.

Sticker is to hide the ribbon cable on clear shells. They did this as people complained about the look

@@baldybald100I did the same and my order didn’t come with the black protective sticker for the bottom and rear. Bummed. You can see the metal right through the black shell. It’s not that dark. I emails funny playing directly to try to get one, but don’t see the option to purchase it anywhere. I don’t trust using regular electrical tape. I fear it’ll peel off and shrink like most electrical tape does. I may add it to the rear temporarily just to finish assembly and play a bit till I source a proper sticker. Hope you’re came with one.

MLP the smaller black sticker goes over the bottom front of the screen to hide the copper through see through shell. The back sticker serves the purpose of avoiding shorts on the pins. The Nintendo helpline sticker went on the batter door over the Gameboy writing on OG models. The serial number went where you put it. Not hating just informing as someone who has done multiple GBC/DMG custom builds and am waiting for my FPGBC kit to arrive. Also there is an update to the firmware and a boot loader to put the Gameboy boot screen back on (rather than the awful FPGBC one that it has)

1st time in a long time Ron isn't my 1st time finding out about something. These are indeed neat and I almost pulled a trigger on one, but the clock speed is/was wrong and you won't get it to run at the correct speed. Looking into it hardware version 1.1 says "More accurate clock speed" So whosever video I watched before that compared speeds might have had 1.0. It does seem they are constantly working on it with new revisions/firmware. So Rons late video caused me to look back into it and might be interested. =P

You can´t just implement a SD card on FPGA, somewhere in the procces you need to convert the data provided by the SD card to a signal the FPGA can proces. Easyest is converting and providing a signal the cardridge pin conectors can accept. A hard wired everdrive in the shel might please some people. If you want both a cardridge slot and sd card you need a anologe switch to decide te sourse. That would put the device yet again in the price range of Analogue Pocket.

Neat little device. Unfortunately it lacks the Analogue Pocket advantage of being able to play carts from other portables. But as a Game Boy clone this is pretty cool.

I got one and assembled about a month ago a great little system. And I have another one coming because my son watched me playing Pokémon blue and was amazed by it.👍🏻 Easy to assemble apart from the damn screen ribbon cable😡😂.

I understand that people use the FPGBC and Analog Pocket to play their original cartridges, but a lot of folks just want to play the games without caring about how it all works. In that case something like the R36S is certainly a direct competitor that offers more functions at a price of 40 bucks (sometimes even less).

I love my pocket. Yet I find I am using my SuperNT most frequently. I think it’s the ROM lists that I find overwhelming in the OpenFPGA menu… wish it was more colourful or had a more interesting menu system. GUI.

If there was a way to load NES, Master System, TG-16 and Game Gear cores, this would be a really nice device. But it just lacks the versatility of the Analogue Pocket. Seems like a great alternative for someone who wants the OG GBC hardware, but in nice condition, with a better screen, and without the OG hardware price.

I will say that if the FPGBC is worth $80, than the Analogue Pocket is WELL worth $200. You are not only getting a system that plays GB/GBC/GBA carts (out of the box), but the display is really where it shows its value. The 1600p display allows it to realistically emulate each of the different original systems, with dot pixel accuracy. As a fan of the '89 DMG-01, I love playing the Pocket, with it looking like an original system (except with backlighting), then switching through the Pocket, Light, Color, GBA, and even the Super Game Boy (SGB²), is what I love. Then of course, you have the SDCard and openFPGA, Which adds support for another several thousand games! ;) Since I got the Pocket, Dock, and adapters, it's become my go to emulation system, for 8 and 16 bit systems.

Amazing product, great price, will be very fun to build with my kids since it doesn't require soldering, but as a device for myself I'll stick with either my screen modded OG GBC or my Shell swapped GBA SP, or my fully modded GBA, heck I already own the AP so I can play almost everything and I even have the ultimate handheld my phone. I might hold out for funny playing to create a GBA version so my kids can experience even more classics.

rag...you've bought a whole Nintendo suite of modding...the complete set...nice...I only have the agb-001original with backlit modded screen from China..as you point out...plays all the GB/GBC anyway...but the boards are getting old at well over 20 years now (my on/off switch is loose)...hopefully we'll have Funny Playing or another Chinese bunch making new boards with FPGA chips soon... somewhere in the next year or 2 will be helpful won't it?

bank...because like me you want the advantage of emulation where you can have save states whenever...without the disadvantages of emulation...we want real hardware of course...FPGA chips is as good as it gets...so we need to buy the everdrive too if we don't already own one...add that on...120ish...still half the Analogue Pocket price

Shall i get this or just keep playing on my KongFeng GB Boy Colour. I already have the Ever-Drive Cart ? Also the GB Boy does not have stereo does this have Stereo . Agree not a lot of games have stereo but as a quick test you could try GB Bomb Jack on the GB Boy the sound goes quiet when you collect the bombs from either the left or right side of the screen.

those are insulation stickers to stop parts from shorting out, the slim one is meant for the bottom of the screen on the front bottom its optional and just for looks. The 1-800 number one goes on the battery cover. you would think someone would maybe watch one of the million youtubers videos that already covered this first months ago.

I dont need it, I have a decent emulator already (Pocket Flip) that I rarely use. But I have a lot of nostalgia for the GBC as it was my first ever handheld. A teal color option like my original would probably get me to buy, otherwise I might wait for the alleged GBA version; it would be less nostaligic for me but a better system overall and I don't really want to buy twice.

i heard everdrive doesnt work after you try to load a second game. everdrive probably has trouble flashing memory. i think an easy trick is load a game on a real nintendo product then pop the everdrive back into the funnyplaying fpga. the generic chinese copy of the everdrive works, its like $20 but doesnt have save states.

Can u test the Everdrive a bit more, I hear there are Everdrive issues that causes errors when you take the cart out and reinsert it. Otherwise pretty good value it seems

It is a nice device, but not really that cheap. For 100 bucks more you have a Analogue Pocket with openfpga and a sd card slot, so you dont have to buy an everdrive. If you add that up with the price they are just as expensive for a device that can do a lot less....
