I love the Analogue Pocket solely because of its high build quality, feeling, and design. I understand why they're so popular, but I am so sick of hearing about the latest Anbernic or Powkiddy that'll just be redundant in a year. This is something to be proud of owning.

Agreed!! My Favorite Console right now. For me it was the FPGA Hardware Emulation that is Superior to Software Emulation that made me go out and get one. I own a bunch of emulation mini consoles and they just can't replicate the original hardware perfectly. The Analogue Pocket does Emulation as close to perfect as possible. The Pocket is a high-quality product that makes you feel like your money was well spent. High quality emulation, High quality screen, great features, great accessories, great support. $250 well spent.

@@EgGu-l9y FPGA is "hardware re-creation" not exactly emulation but it is semantics. It is all about playing games accurately and that is what I like about it. Software emulation tends to be a bit more flexible but I love them both. I love that we live in an era where I can play the games that I only read about in magazines instantly.

I had my Analogue Pocket since Dec 2022 but only opened it this year and so glad I did because if you don’t charge it every 6 months even if not using it the battery can actually go bad prematurely. Although it required a long charge before using it does seem to hold a charge so I was lucky
@8bitjoystick2 ай бұрын
Yes I also worry about some of my systems that have built-in rechargeable batteries that I don't play on a regular basis like my PSP go, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U gamepad.
@dwightdixon85082 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s actually a potentially serious problem for consoles and handhelds as the battery and bulge so bad will damage the system! I’ve seen it happen on a PSP. So I remove all rechargeable batteries if possible from my PSP & Wii U gamepad so that won’t happen. I also charge my Wii U game pad every 6months. It’s even stated in the manual

What's especially cool is if a game had a US release, then the Japanese version would display in English when you pop it into an Analogue pocket set to the English mode. I think that is particularly cool that SNK only made one version of the game worldwide and just changed the labels based on the regions. The Japanese version of these games are a lot cheaper than the American versions
@chaikagaz7 ай бұрын
Not really because saves are handled on the micro sd card instead of the actual cartridges. I think since the fpga chip handles the game the cartridge is only there to tell it which game it is trying to emulate.
@8bitjoystick7 ай бұрын
Well there are different saves options. If you are playing a cartridge with a save function, you can save to the cartridge. You can also save memories to the SD card. And you can use the memories to change the data on the cartridge battery saves. That would be very convenient since you could back up a game's save data before changing the battery on it and then putting it back on the cartridge. There's also the safe states on the EverDrive which also work and are interchangeable with the rest. I thought the flexibility on this was very powerful and could be a good tool.
