You can get to the home on the dock by using a key combination (Select and down on dpad) or use home button on a bluetooth controller like the DS4. I also have the htgdb-gamepacks on mine. You can add display filters to cores. Only issue now is the firmware set a limit to how many. pupudate is great for AP owners.

Xbox series controller connected to dock via BT, the Xbox button acts as the menu button so no need to remove the pocket from the dock to change games etc

I feel the same about my Retroid Pocket 3+. I haven't really been into playing games in a long time, but when I play something, it's on my RP3+ because I can pick it up, play a tried and true classic for a few minutes, then hit my save state bind so that I can continue later. With run ahead enabled, input has even lower latency than real hardware. Oh and the Cannonball engine provides a great classic Out Run experience with some modern niceties. :)

I use 8bitdo sn30 2.4ghz controller with dock. Pressing select and down brings up the menu. You can even use savestate short cuts with up on dpad and then select. Order of press does matter though. I suspect this button combo would work with most controllers

Docked using my 8bitdo Neo geo bt pad, hitting the home button works the same as hitting the analogue button on the console, the dock is a must have for me.

You can fix the Dpad by replacing the rubber membrain with one from a nes controller or one from the Nes classic controller i used that and it make a big diffrence i now have Diagonal, but dont change the Dpad it's self you have to use the one that comes with the pocket..

I have the latest one ($500) they don't run hot at all. I think it has to do with the environment you are in. If you live in a hot house in the summer I think it does absorb the heat in the room but I have a AC cooled home and its cold and feels nice in your hands. It is a little heavier then the one you have so I need to rest it on my knee as I play games after a while but its not like crazy heavy I think you just feel it over time. I do think they over charged but it feels nice in the hands I have to say. I questioned my reasoning into why I purchased it but after a few weeks with it I love it!

I have no problem backing out of games systems etc and accessing the pocket menu when using the dock. I use the 8bitdo Arcade Stick all the time to play neo geo and other arcade systems while docked.

Analogue Pocket was one of the best purchases I have made. Currently have it feeding into the RetroTink 4K... Game Boy in 4K HDR? Sure why not! 🤩 Oh also, get yourself an 8bitDo or the Retrobit Saturn controller, they have the home button you need.

Why is the Retrotink necessary? Doesn't the Pocket dock already output 4K? If not your 4K TV should do a basic upscale to 4K.
@Woodenspade3 ай бұрын
@@estusflask982 it does not. it does 1080p. the pocket itself displays 1440p, so either its a hardware limitation (pocket can't output 4k) or it's just disabled in software. I think upscaling pixel perfect 1080p content to 4k content isn't the main reason someone would buy a retrotink 4k (at least I hope!). I feel like OP would probably tell us he's just using the extra hdmi port on the scaler because it has one, not because it was his main reason for buying.
@Xbudz3 ай бұрын
@@Woodenspade of course it's not my main reason for buying one. I play all the retro stuff. It works wonders for Sega Saturn and Dreamcast!

think the l and r buttons a bit high. Not to much of a issue thou. Waiting on more cores to come. Hopefully the ones that the mister has. THey should of just made the cores FPGA capable in general. Like how emulators just work on any build of pc.

Your 8bitdo controller doesn't have a home button?
@colt51893 ай бұрын
I played that Vs. Mario game at an arcade. I couldn't play it because of the joystick. Just too much travel time. Also, the buttons were terrible for that game as you really need to be able to rock your thumb so you can run and jump, but that's hard to do on arcade buttons on a cabinet.

Hi JOHN , greetings from central Florida WYLD ELF26 here 😸 , , , doesn't the Ruff screen protector and the excessive high price $$$ alarm you just a bit ??? example compare the handheld EVERCADE to this thing 🤔🤔🤔🤔
@worstJago3 ай бұрын
Evercade is emulation with a very meh screen, pocket is FPGA (no sw emulation) with a crazy high-quality/resolution screen. Pocket is for consumers looking for a high end experience, evercade is the low end. I have both devices, pocket is extremely high build quality, evercade is more Chinese e-waste.
