Should You Use The Scar-H? - Insurgency Sandstorm MK17 Mod 0 Weapon review

The Scar-H is a beautiful gun. I love the aesthetic of it, but it just falls flat in Sandstorm. Should you use it?.. well, you can definitely perform with it, but you're better of using the M16, G36K or the Tavor 7 in my opinion. Plz no hate me for talking bad about it lmao.

honestly I think the MK17 might be better suited at 2 supply instead of 3; cheap full auto but with higher recoil and not much ammo by default

I agree with what you said, Sac. That being said, since I only play Co-op myself I tend to use it when I wanna shake things up...but I tend to hop off of it not long after in favor of the Alpha AK tbh.

I just use it for the sounds and looks every now and then. To be fair, I mainly play Coop and I'm at a point where I can do pistol runs fairly easily. I think that 7,62x51 guns are fairly underwhelming in general and I wish they were more distinct from 5,56 guns. Maybe if they buffed Heavy Armor to make it more viable all while making these rounds more effective against armor, maybe the meta would change.

The Scar-H used to hit harder with a penetration of 400+ ish, and a higher velocity (not 100% sure if velocity changed) this was waaaaaaay before the grip variations were introduced tho.

I think it needs to be a 1-shot kill at very close range. NWI has it right that 7.62x51mm from a 13" barrel (as seen on the SCAR-H) has a velocity similar to 7.62x39mm from a 16" barrel (as seen on the AKM), but 7.62x51mm is going to have a higher bullet weight.

The main difference for me is that I can use a suppressor on the scar, and that makes it useful imo 😁 I think this is an important aspect of the comparison vids. Great content keep it up!

In my experience this is actually a really good weapon, especially if you're playing co-op or if you shoot in mostly semi-auto. It's amazing for close, medium and long range. Not so great as a DMR but it works well as that either way, it's very versatile and requires little skill to use. It's basically a cheaper Tavor-7

I agree to disagree on so many aspects but then again i'm more casual i avoid to spray and pray even if i'm somewhat good at it just because feels wrong, you're more into breacher play style and in such scenario ScarH it's mediocre at best. I don't feel it too slow on velocity but it's bulky indeed and does need recoil grip + silencer for accuracy and rogue. G3 does feel slow and other high caliber guns have too much both vertical and more important horizontal recoil for my taste.. Fal was perfect long time ago. Scarh + attachments feels like AKM standard + better at longer range far from perfect but still feels comfortable to use.. downside: nerfed dmg, bulky and slow aiming.. dead meat in CQC against ratata as val / famas etc. Pros: SUPRIM at long range single fire headshots! I can really counter snipe with this thing 1-4 SU bus then compete full auto against ratatatata at mid range.

Advice on using the Honey Badger? The stats are all over the place but it sometimes works out really well somehow and I'm not sure why. The penetration stat given is really high but my experience doesn't really match that (can't say I've ever used it through cover as successfully as the AKM for example), and the muzzle velocity is ridiculously low. It sounds very quiet suppressed at least, looks cool, and the high fire rate shreds in CQB but I just don't know what's going on with it.

The penetration will fall off very quick because of its velocity I assume. Although the PP is high, the bullet loses a lot of speed quickly, so it will struggle to pen a lot of things. I haven't tested it yet, but defs will for a video in the future. Like ya said; the Badger is great for cqb because of its fire-rate and its really good for flanking cos it's so quiet with the suppressor.

I have this gun RL so I use it based on that. Have the same elcan optic comp m4 and ACOG. So I get a kick out of using my real life gun in a video game. Good or bad I use the scar everytime I can.

I've been playing on last Gen xbox1 for a few months now, and I REALLY like the Mk17 for coop games, but for PVP I just don't do as well with it as I seem to do with guns like the Tavor 7 or even the AugA3.

Tavor 7 is a great gun. Really underrated. AUG is probably the best gun in the game imo. Cheap, best velocity, easy to control. Good all round gun.

@@sac_YT I appreciate the response! I really enjoy your content! The Aug was the gun that helped me break the seal, so to speak, for PVP in this game. It was the first gun I was able to score any kills with, and it helped me build the confidence to try different things and not focus solely on coop. It's by far still my go-to pick when I really want to focus on trying to do well, or at least better.

m16a4 is actually looking as a really bad pick for me. I mean the gun is not complete trash - you can score kills with it, but for me it just worse than m16a2 in every scenario: To make a4 something like dmr we need 2 things: flash hider and an optic sight (preferably with as much zooming power as we can achieve). So, a4 costs 2 points, than we add AT LEAST 2 times magnified holo + 2 points, and then a flash hider another +1. So, right now we got somewhat effective for medium distance combat for 5 points. Not bad you may think. But it just falls short when we will compare a4 with a2: a2 is 1 point, REALLY NICE unique THREE TIMES scope (already better than that 2 times magnified holo, and you can touch enemies not only on medium ranges, but even on long ranges(and still being relatively effective at close range, even with higher magnification value)) for 2 points, and a flash hider +1 point. Overall- gun with better scope for 1 point less. This is smoke grenade launcher difference (which is 1 point for 2!!! smokes for your team). And the gas mask with makarov are completely free. Why security side is so underequipped for their job in this game? And yeah, scar-h is not super bad, but it is worse than mk18 or tavor 7 in almost every possible scenario. Also, sacrilicious, what do you think about 7.62x51 galil 52?

Yeah you're right with the A4 v A2, but I was just using the A4 so I can stay with security weapons for the sake of a proper comparison. I honestly haven't even used the Galil yet man. So I can't give you an opinion on it sorry. I hardly play gunner tbh.

Imo if you're not playing domination, you don't need 30rd mags on SCAR, they look super ugly. Also I dunno but I'm pretty positive you can OS ppl with SCAR if you hit them in vital organs area
