I am a PhD student in the department of mechanical engineering. i want to thank you for perfect lessons. In Example 1, shouldnt we calculate also normal stress in the y(prime) direction? I guess it is 50-39.82=10.18 MPa. Greetings from Turkey....

@@adarshsachan7151 no it's correct formula , I have solved two problems based on octahredal completely wherein I have used all 3 formula of tauoct and all give the same answer hence it's correct

I think there is a silly mistake in calculating tau octahedral formula . Where is 3*I2 there should be 2*I2 .
