Every video you guys make is such a love letter to the pieces of music you're revisiting, the artists who originally performed and anyone else who helped make them the hits they were. This is such a fantastic channel and I'm really glad we get to see this kind of thorough essay on what seems mundane to the average listener. It truly shows how much detail can go into these drum tracks - from sound selection to programming these patterns. All neatly presented in a very digestible format, so that the interested novice can get something out of it as much as the passionate pro..

Just stumbled across this and want to take a small moment to sprinkle a jar or two of high praise: Excellent production value, inventive video work and combined with what I can only call unique didactic flair at this moment. I may come back to this if I find a better way to describe it, but at any rate I'm impressed. I don't often comment, and when I do it's usually to correct or augment some fact in a video. Take it as you may, but I _like_ the way this video was made, it tastes good, the structure is satisfying and it has an aroma that makes one wish for more. Subscribed.

I'm not a musician, but I've been very interested in music for a very long time, especially when it comes to the emergence of synth-pop, electronic music in general and hip-hop. In this context, this absolutely special beat in Personal Jesus has always fascinated me extremely. And now you explain to me in this great video exactly how it is structured, so that I can now understand much better how complex this song is. That makes it even more important and interesting for me. Thank you very much for this, really great!

So well crafted… even though I don’t have the urge to recreate such iconic songs myself, the gradual dissection and explanation is very clear and easy to grasp. Very high production level.

At 18:15 it was quite validating, as I only yesterday or the day before commented on 12Tone's video about Personal Jesus that the part with the stacked fill at the end of the bar just feels to me like it rotates the emphasis round rather than "lagging behind" or putting the beat "off kilter" or, however they said it in their video. I love all the different ways people can feel the same pulse (or indeed, different pulses from the same rhythm).
