Dimash is a master composer. He not only composed this song, he had his words put into English lyrics then he produced the song as he always. He also came up with the story for the video and worked very closely with the director to make sure that his vision was made perfectly. His layering of his vocals on this song is exquisitely done, 14 layers I believe. He is a complete artist, multi instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, creative genius, and vocalist who is unrivalled in both range and technique. He an compose and sing any genre of music and it sounds incredible. He also visualises all his concerts in his head and makes sure his team make it all cometogether exactly as he sees it. You should watch his Almaty concert, its on his channel in three parts as its almost 4 hours of complete epicness. He composed an operatic ariavending it with hip hop vibes and it was stunning. With immense hollograms, three Dimash's with him coming on at the end to sing with them. The most creative thing I have seen so far at any concert, and he did it all in Spanish to please his spanish speaking fans. Dimash is music, its in his dna ❤

It was lovely to hear someone else sing Omir, a thousand times more so because you sang it so beautifully, but I don't know a word of Kazakh so can't help with feedback about it. Dimash has only ever written the lyrics for one of the songs he's composed. And guess what? It's Omir!

Dimash also wrote the lyrics for "War And Peace" (composition and lyrics of this magnificent song), together with Yao Qian, who transcribed it from Kazakh to Chinese, together with Dimash!

@@ju1ietta I expressed myself poorly: I didn't mean to say that there was a text in Kazakh that was translated into Chinese. I mentioned that the composition of the song as well as the idea it wanted to convey was by Dimash and that the lyricist Yao Qian transposed the idea and objective of the song into Chinese! The same was done with "The History of One Sky", which had an idea and composition by Dimash and lyrics by the Russian poet Lilia Vinogradova: Dimash did not compose the song based on Petisa's poetry, he created the theme and the idea of the song itself. However, if the question is about music written exclusively by Dimash (in Kazakh, of course), then "Omir" really fits into that question!

Glad you enjoyed the bluesy, soul, and gospel fragments in this song, and thanks for explaining some of that stuff (and again for your beautiful singing and harmonizing). For a funkier Dimash (though obv not vulfpeck), check out his Dudarai from last year (more details in my comment on your SOS reaction). Love from the UK. 🕊😍

Dimash is a genius! A great storyteller and paradigm breaker! Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality... Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is: A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures. Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing... The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details. As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone! The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb! The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen! The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall! A giant, masterful, modern work that makes you want to watch it several times! 1000 out of 10! Hugs from a Brazilian!

👉 Dimash does it again and again. He surprises us every time. I love his versatility and creativity, his wonderful voice. It doesn't fit into any box and I love that. It never gets boring. I like the moment in the video when he smiles sensually cheeky at us, his dears, as if to say: 'Look at me and scream and rage.' I'm going to seduce this pretty blonde now... because I can! ' The two voices that come out of the scratchy gramophone are the original recordings of the LAKME flower duet from 1915 with two Russian sopranos (Maria Mikhailova (1864-1943) (soprano, interpreting Lakmé) and Antonina Panina (1870-1941) (mezzo-soprano, interpreting Mallika) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2LLXoKVbZWNp5o In the Dimash News it is written: On February 26, 2024 in Istanbul, Dimash Qudaibergen presented a music video for a new work “When I’ve got you”. The premiere took place as part of a press conference held by the artist in connection with his upcoming solo concert in Turkiye. The main idea of the clip belongs to Dimash and the MV’s director Galym Asylov: “A world-famous artist, who leads a very private lifestyle, decided to give his first open interview. The young journalist chosen by him goes to the meeting in great excitement, immensely worried and tormented by the question: “What if?…”. The woman’s vivid imagination suggests a mysterious image of the main character and plunges her into a mystical story. “Everyone knows that Dimash is a kind and simple person. Not much is known about his personal life, he does not often appear in the media space and does not give particularly personal interviews. We wanted to present the artist from a slightly different side, in a “book”, fictionalized image”, - shared the director. Galym Assylov and Zhanibek Gusmanov - the second director of the project and line producer say that the shooting process was very interesting, it took place in Almaty. A creative team of more than 70 people worked on the clip with the involvement of specialists from China. It was there that the costume of the main character was sewn and together with Kazakhstan specialists created the whole image of the artist. The casting was not simple enough: many actresses and models were tried for the role of the main character and other characters. Three locations were used in the clip, and the search for ancient culture was not an easy task. In a creative atmosphere, a large international team tried to create a mysterious story in every element of the interior, in every detail of the costume, in every frame. The composition itself was written by Dimash. The author of the lyrics was Candice Kelly. The co-writer of the lyrics, co-producer, orchestrator and arranger was Dmytro Gordon. “Working with Dimash is a dream for many, and I felt extremely honored and privileged that he has entrusted me to work on this song with him. It felt like a great responsibility, as “When I’ve Got You” was a step into a new direction for Dimash as an artist, and it was also something different for his core audience. Dimash told me that for some time, he wanted a track on the verge of blues, jazz, rock, and r&b, and my suggestion was to make it sound fresh and edgy - something raw but beautiful, something truly unexpected. That has resulted in a blend of some heavy drums, electric guitars and piano together with the orchestra, synthesizers, harmonica, and even a choir. We wanted the song to sound groovy, cinematic, epic, and bold. No holding back!,” shared Dmytro Gordon. My sister and I have been watching Dimash for 6 years and you are far and away thre most informative and entertaining reactor and analyzer. Thank you. Knowing your tastes, I think you'll enjoy Dudarai, Know, and The Story of one Sky. The music video of this latter song is quite long and is supposedly the most expensive music video ever made but you might want to listen to him singing this song live from his Almaty concert. Best of luck in your career....love your voice. If you listen to El Amor En Ti in Spanish, you'll get a kick of the ending.

G'day from Sydney. Your reaction was both interesting and comprehensive, and your knowledge of musical forms very impressive. However, I did find it quite hard to follow because: (a) chunks of the song were missing; (b) other chunks were repeatedly handled in a weird order; (c) often the music you were commenting on could not be heard. But with a little re-editing, this could be an outstanding reaction. BTW: Polina Guzieva is a big name in Kazakh athletics! Looking forward to the next one!

in relation to Dimash's vibrato. he does any type of vibrato, whether faster or slower, depending on what he chooses. he has total control over his larynx, you have examples of this in several of his songs. I like Gabriel Henrique, but please don't use him as a comparison with Dimash, because they are different worlds, Dimash is in another league. Dimash sings all musical genres, and you compare it to Gabriel, who simply tells the same songs, in the same tones and always the same type of music. singing Marya Carey, Celine Dion and the like, Dimash has done it live several times in his concerts and talent programs. unlike Gabriel, where all his videos are clearly edited.

I opened the video by saying, "Again, the midwestern woman who can't even spell her own name is going to talk sh.t about Dimash." "Blues, penthatonic scale, diphthongs" these words indicate a level of education. Especially as a linguist, you got a "waw" from me for that last one. Yes, I agree with the other "dears", you talk "a lot" but not "garbage". Do you work with kids too much? Because you explain everything so much, like a teacher. Oh, and we Europeans and Asians really know world literature and cinema. From fantasy and thriller literature: From America, Anne Rice, Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft, Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, etc. From the world: We read authors such as Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, Tolkien, Jean-Christophe Grangé, Gustav Meyrink, Le Fanu, Zamyatin, Belyaev. Cinema is the same way... I also read fairy tales, mythology and legends, which are where all these stories come from, starting with Gilgamesh... We don't live in the stone age, we're just a quarter or half day away by plane.

Thank you. Dimash does write songs and he composes and he directs videos too. The beginning song here is from a 1915 recording of the 1st act of the tragic opera 'Lakme' composed by Leo Delibes. The soprano is Maria Alexandrovna Mikhailova (1864 - 1943) and the mezzo soprano Antoniana Ivanovna Panina ( 1870 _ 1941). I love the R&B/blues/soul/rock vibe in this song. Dimash's vocals are wonderful to hear. Very seductive. I love the production and the set! A great story too in the video. The lyrics would easily apply to many different situations. This vampire take is very fun and has a great look, very fun. :) Totally enjoyable in all ways. I found your analysis and observations really interesting. :)
